Nonsense.
Sure the better team won, but it doesnt matter. Celtic were the away team on the night. 3,4,5-0 were predicted by the media and some pundits. Anything we got tonight would have been a bonus. Not many team’s will go to Old Trafford this season, take the lead, lose the lead and manage to back into the game. When this team’s gelled a bit more over the next few weeks we’ll be ready for the home game.13 September, 2006 at 9:27 pm #238037It’s only scores on the doors at the end that matter Matt. It was to be expected that Celtic would be under the cosh for most of the game. That’s what happens in away games in Europe, certainly when teams visit Old Trafford.
Celtic not only opened the scoring, but got back into the game when they were 2-1 down. Aside from a very dubious penalty, and a mistake by Gravesen we would have got something from the game.
We were set up as sacrificial lambs, and I thought we gave as good as we got, especially in the 1st Half.
Celtic will beat Man Utd at Parkhead and qualify from this group.13 September, 2006 at 8:52 pm #238035Great thrilling game I thought.

13 September, 2006 at 3:13 pm #241311I think Drivel and Peeved have a point to be honest.
In my early days at School the belt was still in force. My Old Dragon of a teacher never used to keep her belt in class. She used to make us cross to the other side of the School to another Classroom to get it. We then had to walk all the way back to our Classroom, so the old bit.ch could rip the skin of our hands, and make it sting for hours.
What’s more humilating? That or 10 press-up’s? Id go for the press-up’s anyday.
I cant believe some people are condoning physical attacks on Teachers by parents. If the kids know their parents are hitting Teachers, theyre gonna think that’s ok. The next time a Teacher has a go at them, theyre gonna turn round and strike the Teachers themselves.
If people take the Law into their own hands then Anarchy ensues. Aside from that if I was a Teacher and a Parent had struck me, Id have them up at court on assualt charges.13 September, 2006 at 3:01 pm #241157@drivel wrote:
You won’t get anywhere arguing against BM and Geoff and the likes ; they are totally anti_american
Even if you did invade Zimbabwe – being the main example they choose – they would then find some way of dissing America for thatBefore the Iraq invasion the majority of people felt that something had to be done – America had the balls to do something – then all of the anti American pacifists crawl out of the woodwork
Back to the main point of the thread – I don;t think the people that lost their lives will be saddened at all at the way America has fought terrorism since 9 11
The goal posts have changed – you are dealing with extremists fanatics – people who have no value for their own lives let alone the lives of others
So the CIA are torturing these people to get information about terrorist cells etc IS that so bad ??
Don’t tell me it doesn’t happen all over the world to different degreesCAll it barbaric – call it what you want – if it stops atrocities then i think it’s justified
How many terrorist plots have been foiled – they are the ones we don’t hear about
The key word’s there Drivel is “before the Iraqi invasion the majority of people felt that something had to be done”. They only felt that way because they’d been fed a pack of lies about Iraq’s involvment of 9/11, and of it’s possesion of Weapons of Mass Destruction. I think if you looked at the opinion polls now you would find quite a difference in opinion.
Sure, Secret Agencies in the USA, the UK and other places indulge in underhand stuff. Bush is happily expanding these operations though to include more CIA prisons around the world to expand the torturing and dissaperance of these suspects.
As has been pointed out in other threads America didnt give a damn when the Terrorism was happening in the British Isles. .FYI-Im not Anti-America either. I just think Bush’s a grave threat to democracy and freedom.
I liked Clinton. Clinton knew Saddam was a Paper Tiger. He sent a few Bomber’s in once in a while to give Saddam a bloody nose, but he knew he wasnt a great threat.
Clinton was a good President. Getting BJ’s from his interns. Very classy and very funny. I’d have went for a beer with Clinton. I dont think I’d wanna go for an Orange Juice with stuffy old GWB.12 September, 2006 at 7:47 pm #241154Of course it was to settle old family scores.
First thing Bush said when he heard about 9/11 was “Tell me it was Iraq”. When his aides made it clear it wasnt anything to do with Iraq, false evidence was manifested to make it seem like Iraq was involved.Let’s not forget in amongst all this that 9/11 could have been stopped before it happened.
Numerous warning’s were given that an operation was under way in America, and every single warning was totally ignored.
Bush and his cronies brought out ludricrous nonsense such as “mushroom clouds” above American cities if Iraq wasnt attacked, and that propoganda was bought by the people.George Bush is 100 times more of a threat to the the stability of the world than Saddam Hussein ever was.

12 September, 2006 at 4:56 pm #241152Youre still insisting that Iraq that links to Al Queda, even though your own President has admitted they didnt? Do you know something he dosent :?
There’s more chance of it raining Chocolate than there is of Weapons of Mass Destruction ever being found In Iraq.
9/11 gave Bush the opportunity to settle old family scores with Saddam by bringing out false reasons for going to war.12 September, 2006 at 3:26 pm #241150FYI Saddam Hussien and Iraq had absolutely NO connection to 9/11 or Al Queda. If you believe they did it’s only because you believed the false Propoganda.
The American Secret Agencies knew that Iraq had nothing to do with it. Four years have been wasted in Iraq, with countless thousands of deaths. What a great diversion for Al Queda to rebuild and plan more attacks whilst we’re bogged down in Iraq.
5 Years on, and Bin Laden still roams free. Maybe more resources should have been utilised targeting the real threat of Bin Laden, instead of a personal family vendetta against Saddam by Bush. -
