Glad that’s been clarified. I’ve had trouble sleeping wondering if you were still mates.

He did look a wee bit tired after the other night, but totally beaten by a fantastic player.
30 June, 2008 at 10:30 pm #350247Gasquet was a semi-finalist last year. He was the number 8 seed. He is no “second rate player” As usual Kevin you’re talking out of your ar/se.
To be honest I think Murray will give Nadal a hell of a fright now, if not beat him.
30 June, 2008 at 8:37 pm #350244What a match! I was totally riveted. :D Fantastic!

I fancy Spain by a couple of goals.

I was hedging my bets.
This should inspire Spain’s twin Bridesmaid England now that Spain’s 45 years of pain is over. Somehow I cant see an English team playing like Spain did last night, but ya get my drift.
29 June, 2008 at 4:15 pm #350240I dont know if you can say that anyone of that age wont win a Grand Slam.
He isnt the finished article. He could move up a few levels in a few years. Federer only had the same ranking as Murray when he was Murray’s age.

Where he’d get trounced by Federer
Hard to disagree Pete, but if Murray got to the Final and lost 6-0 6-0 6-0 to Federer it would still be a fantastic achievement.
Realistically the only person who can stop Federer this year is Nadal.
29 June, 2008 at 1:56 pm #351060I thought the whole thing was a load of bulls.hit. Im sure the old guy would like to retire peacefuly to his Garden instead of having to hang out with all these Musician and Actor fakes most of whom just jump on the Bandwagon.
He aint a living saint. One mans Terrorist is another mans Freedom Fighter, depending on what side you’re looking at it from. Some people would look at the IRA and Al Queda and say they were freedom fighters fighting against inequality and injustice.29 June, 2008 at 12:59 pm #350236The matches will become significantly more difficult now, but outside of Federer and Nadal I’d say he’s got as good a chance as anyone. Nadal’s got a tough match before the Quarters. (as has Murray) If Nadal get’s knocked out then the road to the Final would open up for Murray.

Andy Murray was brought up in Dunblane. I would say that’s a pretty normal upbringing.
As for this guy he’s number 600+ in the world for a good reason. He won 1 match at Wimbeldon backed by a home crowd.
Shows how bad British Tennis is that we build these no hopers up to be the next big thing. Sorry to be brutal but it’s the truth. I doubt the Yanks would give this type of coverage if one of their guy’s had that ranking, and won 1 match.Yes but Andy’s mum is a well respected tennis coach and Tim has rich parents so they have had help.
Your right tennis in this country is in a terrible state, but nobodies going to do anything about it. Tim was pleading earlier for someone to sponser this guy through all the forthcoming tournaments as he needs to play in them to improve.
My friends granddaughter is an ace player, champion in her age in the county but the family do not have the ability for her to go any further without outside help, its so wrong to see talent wasted because of money.
The guy went to the same Schoool as Tim, so I’m guessing that’s Public School.
