On the whole mini-series subject.. one of my absolute faves had to be

I really loved that title theme.. and notorious scenes of alien eating habits and This bizarre birth scene were perfect fodder for my warped teenage imagination :?

I just watched V again on You Tube a wee while ago. Fantastic. 8)

An Old Firm team?! From a financial point of view, I can see the benefits but back on planet earth there’s no chance in hell  Some Old Firm fans get on well, I have a lot of mates who are Celtic fans and there’s a bit of banter but that’s about as extreme as it gets. Afraid it’s not the same for everyone. Also, why are folk always calling the SPL ‘easy’? Before the obvious, predictable responses from the obvious people, here’s my thinking:
The SPL has 12 teams, you know it’s a two horse race for the title, relegation’s pretty much decided before the season even starts which just leaves the UEFA Cup spots.
The premiership is a 20 team league, all the talk is of the ‘big four’ but realistically it’ll be between two or three teams for the title, you have a rough idea who’s going to be relegated which just leaves the UEFA Cup spots.
It’s a stronger league but is it really any more difficult for the big boys to win it than it is for Rangers or Celtic to win theirs?
You didnt mention the fact that English teams get 30 million a season from TV Money before a ball is kicked. Celtic and Rangers get 2 million.
England has a population of 50 million. Scotland has a population of 5 million. Comparing the two is a bit unfair. I dont think anyone could name a League in the World from a Country the same size as ours that’s as good as the SPL.
I also dont think we need to have a better chance in Europe. Celtic and Rangers have both had good runs in the UEFA Cup the past few years, and also cracked the last 16 of the Champions League.
Given the aforementioned TV Money I think that’s our level. Sure we can beat the big boys or run them close, but winning the Champions League is a bit unrealistic, although I believe the Celtic team which reached the UEFA Cup Final was a better team than the Liverpool one which won the Champions League, so you never know with a bit of luck, and the right draw.
7 April, 2008 at 5:17 pm #322577If that turns out to be the case, then it’s mind blowing that they could have possibly believed that they could have got away with it.
7 April, 2008 at 3:46 pm #322575Gonna be a lot of people assigning blame to each other, trying to save themselves. Just because the Mother’s been arrested dosent follow that she’s defo guilty.
The Police will just be trying to figure out what’s true and what isnt. It’s a pretty crazy story for sure.
