Put it in here…we all know it’s DOA anyway.
You think I post as Dead on Arrival too? I don’t – I think I’ve had a few rows with them in the past though!!!

I was going to go on spit the dummy to post a post with the most spelling mistakes, typos and grammar mistakes ever seen on JC in one single post. But it was not to be!

Our connection seems OK – I think it’s probably due to abnormally high internet use in USA during and after the presidential poll. Seems OK again now, touch wood.

Bassingbourne55 replied to the topic violent video games in the board Getting serious 16 years, 8 months ago
My son has some violent games – he’s in his mid teens now. We didn’t really approve of him having them but he’s a gentle person, not into real-life violence or agression at all.
But I do think that violent games can influence some more impressionable people. Also I wonder about some of these driving car chase games might be a bit dodgy if you…[Read more]

By a strange coincidence, this comes only a matter of hours before the Federal Republic of the British Isles is declared simultaneously in London, Edinburgh, Cardiff, Belfast and Dublin. With this, the British monarchy is abolished, the Anglican Church is disestablished and the ex-republic of Eire has its ties with the Pope’s apron stings cut.

I go on various other forums as well and I’ve noticed a marked shift to the far-right in general, with lunatic quasi-fasist postings. Not just British, it’s the same on American sites.
Is it a case of reasonable, nice, level-headed people in their real lives using the internet to give exprssion to the inner Nazi?

Well, is spending includes the partial nationalisation of some of our big banks, it’s better than the alteranative – e.g. Barclays, which is now going to be partially owned by the Abu Dhabi royal family!

I think it’s time for a thinning out of TV’s big egos. From arrogant Top Gear presenters to celebrity chefs with Tourette’s, from lisping chat-show hosts to has-been Glaswegian comedians, it’s time to get rid of the boorish and the gratuitously rude. We don’t pay our licence fee to see highly paid louts foul-mouthing people.

As far as we know, George Michael never set out publicly humiliate and upset people like these two did.

It’s very sad when this happens and especially horrifying if the cats are being harmed or stolen .
I don’t let my cats out for long periods and usually only when they’re beginning to expect a meal.

When I ask him why the bank had lost so much cash in the last few months, he blame university students running up 40k of debt and then going bankrupt.
He couldn’t bring himself to say it was the US subprime mortgages, collapsing UK housing and commerecial property market, loans to other banks, meltdown of banking share prices……

All a bunch of cheats the lot of them, and it will all be publicised very very soon.
Were they cheats if what they were doing was legal? I hope shorting is banned completely, as should be all other forms of derivative share trading. It should be a simple buy / sell set up. You buy some shares – you own them. You sell them and you don’t own…[Read more]

It’s all going down the pan, pear shaped!
The general wisdom of the moment, that’s sinking in, is that it would be foolish to buy a house at the moment just to watch it go down and down in value. How long before the markets are bad enough for investors to think it’s foolish to buy shares. Now that shorting has been banned and you can’t turn…[Read more]

Where I live, in Somerset, we’ve now had 3 years with hardly any wasps around. Usually in late August / early September you can’t eat outside becaus of the number of wasps around. Not so for the last 3 summers. That, to me, is a good thing – I hate wasps!
