Have you seen the old man
    In the closed-down market
    Kicking up the paper,
    with his worn out shoes?
In his eyes you see no pride
And held loosely at his side
    Yesterday’s paper telling yesterday’s news

So how can you tell me you’re lonely,
And say for you that the sun don’t shine?
Let me take you by the hand and lead you through the streets of London
I’ll show you something to make you change your mind

Have you seen the old girl
Who walks the streets of London
Dirt in her hair and her clothes in rags?
    She’s no time for talking,
She just keeps right on walking
Carrying her home in two carrier bags.

So how can you tell me you’re lonely,
And say for you that the sun don’t shine?
Let me take you by the hand and lead you through the streets of London
I’ll show you something to make you change your mind

    In the all night cafe
    At a quarter past eleven,
Same old man is sitting there on his own
    Looking at the world
Over the rim of his tea-cup,
    Each tea last an hour
    Then he wanders home alone

So how can you tell me you’re lonely,
And say for you that the sun don’t shine?
Let me take you by the hand and lead you through the streets of London
I’ll show you something to make you change your mind

And have you seen the old man
    Outside the seaman’s mission
    Memory fading with
The medal ribbons that he wears.
    In our winter city,
The rain cries a little pity
    For one more forgotten hero
And a world that doesn’t care

So how can you tell me you’re lonely,
And say for you that the sun don’t shine?
Let me take you by the hand and lead you through the streets of London
I’ll show you something to make you change your mind

posted this elsewhere just want any advice really.

has anyone had it or know anyone who has, or has your kids had it?
my boy woke up yesterday morning with a rash both his cheeks, you cant feel it but it looks bright red and its warm to touch. it seemed to fade abit yesterday and he didnt feel unwell so i left it alone. today he woke up again with bright red cheeks. he says its itchy too. its no where else on his body at the min.
im worried he might have this as one of his teachers is pregnant and id hate to put her at risk of catching it. he’s been to school today as hes fine otherwise.
im gonna leave it again today and see what its like tomorrow before ringing the docs. i dont want them thinking im a stupid neurotic parent.
i know its not his bedding as it was changed about a week ago so its not a reaction to soap powder. its just very weird and this thought popped in my head that it MIGHT be this.

ring the medics hun always best , asking on here is worse than having a medical dictionary, before you know it he will have everything from bubonic plague to bluddy gout!!! lol hope he gets better soon xxx

    from the film chicago …

    Amos:
If someone stood up in a crowd
And raised his voice up way out loud
And waved his arm and shook his leg
    You’d notice him

If someone in the movie show
Yelled “Fire in the second row
This whole place is a powder keg!”
    You’d notice him

And even without clucking like a hen
Everyone gets noticed, now and then,
Unless, of course, that personage should be
    Invisible, inconsequential me!

    Cellophane
    Mister Cellophane
    Shoulda been my name
    Mister Cellophane
‘Cause you can look right through me
    Walk right by me
    And never know I’m there…

    I tell ya
    Cellophane
    Mister Cellophane
    Shoulda been my name
    Mister Cellophane
‘Cause you can look right through me
    Walk right by me
    And never know I’m there…

Suppose you was a little cat
    Residin’ in a person’s flat
Who fed you fish and scratched your ears?
    You’d notice him

Suppose you was a woman, wed
And sleepin’ in a double bed
Beside one man, for seven years
    You’d notice him

A human being’s made of more than air
With all that bulk, you’re bound to see him there
Unless that human bein’ next to you
    Is unimpressive, undistinguished
    You know who…

    Cellophane
    Mister Cellophane
    Shoulda been my name
    Mister Cellophane
‘Cause you can look right through me
    Walk right by me
    And never know I’m there…
    I tell ya
    Cellophane
    Mister Cellophane
    Shoulda been my name
    Mister Cellophane
‘Cause you can look right through me
    Walk right by me
    And never know I’m there
    Never even know I’m there.

Hope I didn’t take up too much of your time.

yes he should have come home, countless other solidiers could have been put into danger by him being there. of course he’s no more a hero than the rest of our lads out there and i think he will be the first one to say that. however i thinkhis service out there has shown the royal family what its really like to live like the ordinary folk and fight along side them.

    val doonican

    From pigtails to wedding veils
    From pinafores to lace
And in between are the special years
    Time never can erase

From play toys to college boys
    From little girl to wife
And in between are the special years
You remember all of your life

    The special years are filled
    With sweet promises and pain
    But love will never taste
    Quite so wonderful again

So slow up, don’t rush to grow up
You’ll be a woman before long
So stay awhile in the special years
Their magic will soon be gone

Just stay awhile in the special years
Their magic – will soon be gone…
