Amazingly I have to agree with Mr B. Whilst executing him will no doubt feed the desire for revenge – hang on … wait a minute… what crime did he commit again??? Oh yes that’s it, he murdered a few thousand of his fellow countrymen. But what third world despot hasn’t done this??? Anyway they are all killing each other in the name of their particular variation of their God – so what’s the difference??
So dear kind old Saddam is hung – and the current levels of bloodshed will increase many times over.
Of course the US troops will still wander around in their sunglasses and chew gum and when something untoward happens they’ll panic as usual and start shooting indiscriminately.
But hey … what’s new???
PB whatever they do there will be bloodshed, but if they hang him (which incidentally i’m in favour of) then at least we wont get the terrorism acts demanding that they release him from jail will they. You wont win in this situation, there is now and will be a lot of violence and bloodshed on the back of this verdict.
I fear for the judge and his family too .

I think being happy about the death sentence is a short-sighted view. It will make him a martyr and it will probably be the tipping point that pushes the Sunnis, Shias and Kurds into civil war. It seems obvious to me that the situation will deteriorate badly in the run-up to his execution and in the wake of his execution. I don’t think the Iraqi government nor the american government have a plan on how to cope with the aftermath, but that’s not surprising considering how hopeless america’s planning has been so far. The death penalty shouldn’t have been part of the new iraqi constitution, that would have enabled a life sentence which would have less of an impact than the execution of saddam. It is clear to me that things in Iraq are bound to get much worse.
Mr Bigstuff you always talk a lot of sense, however on this occasion I disagree with you , the powers that be are between a rock and a hard place, what ever they do to Sadam there will be problems and terrorism will continue (it would anyway) and you will be hearing that some terrorists are doing it in the name of Sadamm
However, the one reason I come down on the side of the death penalty is at least that way we wont be getting the terrorists taking hostages, blowing up public buildings , hijacking planes in the name of Sadam and demanding he be released will they?
Anyway it is still open to speculation, will he go through years of appeals, will as one post suggests the sentence be commuted to life in imprisonment?
The thing is with this sort of person being put to death does make them a martyr and he is probably revelling in this, however a life time imprisonment doesnt make him a martyr does it , so will he then do away with himself?
there will be a lot written on this subject in the days and weeks ahead , i for one will just wait and see.
hugs mr B nice talkin to ye xxxxx

Hi ya,
Just found this site after a couple of weeks going round in circles on chat forum. To many abbrev… for me to handle not to mention the confusion when my typing speed couldn’t keep up with them.
I was a member of another site, had loads of fun and made many posting unfortunately I ran foul of the adminstrator when I objected to some racist remarks and consequently was kicked out and barred from entry. oh hum.
So there you have it I tend to put my foot in it.you’ll fit right in then in that case :!: :!: :!:

Apparently on hearing the death sentence being read out..Saddam shouted “God is good!” Feck only knows what superlative he would have come up with if he’d been sentenced to community service instead..
What he should have shouted was: “God is good but Sadam is fucked.”!!
WTF?
Anyway, back on topic…They should have just killed him when they found him first. What a waste of time, a waste of effort…It took them about 2-3 years to come up with this conclusion..And now FINALLY, he will receive the death penalty .
not until he’s gone through 20 years of appeals he wont!!
