In your haste to exit the thread with no clear response to the question about gun volume linked to gun violence, your exit strategy was to criticise something you thought I said.

Yes. It was drac that said that. She said there were armed police patrolling everywhere in Manchester. Hmmmmmm..let’s analyse that for a minute shall we.

There definitely was an increased presence of armed police at public events in Manchester after the terrorist bomb tragedy at an Ariane Grande concert in 2017. That increased presence seems to have been met with different views from the public. You see, we’re not a gun loving nation like yours puds. Anyway, the thought of ‘armed police patrolling everywhere’ is another one of drac’s over-dramatisations to get up people’s noses.

Sorry, but between you, you’ve both managed to royally fuck up this one.

You’re not really a numbers girl are you drac? You don’t go in for statistics in any way shape or form do you – preferring to concentrate on the dramatic headline or shock-inducing picture to make your point…..just to pick an argument with………….well……….me.

I’ve never said that the UK is perfect when it comes to guns and I’ve never talked about gun control ad nauseum like you and the others do.

No my dear, lets boil it down to one simple correlation: when you have more guns you have more gun violence..most of it domestic…and sadly more gun deaths. I’m glad that we agree there is a cultural difference between most civilised countries and the USA regarding gun ownership.  The thread started with my dear ol mukker Trump endorsing wider gun ownership following Uvalde. ‘give the teachers guns’ he said (and not for the first time).

Imagine BoJo saying that over here. I’m intrigued to know what your reaction would be to that???

Well hello drac, I was wondering when you were gonna stick your cute little nose into this debate and try to debunk everything I’ve said. Before you make anymore boo boos, I suggest you read

..and I refer you back to the big picture that the UK has a tiny fraction of the gun ownership per head than the USA and consequently it has a tiny fraction of the gun violence per head than our cousins across the pond. The UK does not have a gun culture as does the USA and gun ownership isn’t promoted anywhere near as much as it is in the US. Our community police perform their job by consent, not with guns.

Tell me drac, are you compelled to rush out and buy an AR15 and convert it for your protection? I’d like to see that…

Try concentrating on the main facts of the case, not tiny little distracting details. You don’t wanna be like fishy do you ?

Of course, gun lovers might want to argue that they have more nutters per 100,000 of the population than anyone else in the world, hence the much greater gun violence.
