Hotel rooms are about £50 per night; I still think you would be better off looking for a 1p ryanair flight to somewhere warm.
23 February, 2008 at 5:03 pm #313583I think your all talking out of your fat assess again.
DNA is only an “indicator” its not 100% reliable.
Groups like the IRA knew about DNA and always took bleach and other cleaning products to remove any trace of it.
You have to ask the question,
“How much DNA do you need to find on a dead body to convict someone?”
Are we talking the same amount of blood or urine has a paper cut or a pint?
We had the same debate 60 years ago with fingerprints, (there only about 60% reliable).
You still need to produce a body of evidence to convict someone, like how, when and why, DNA doesn’t tell you that.
I love the way people think science will solve crime, it don’t, good police work does.
How many murders did we have last year? Well about 100 so we are going to spend 10 million on this?
You do the math.
The dada base is a waste of money that could be better spent other things for the police.
23 February, 2008 at 11:48 am #313577I am surprise you are all talking about this.
We all know that the new passports and ID cards will have your DNA on them and the information will be kept on a dada base and can be read by anyone.
The national dada base is up and running and being added to each day.
But there is a problem; people and computers get things wrong.
So there is a theory that if your DNA is enters wrong on the dada base you could spend years in prison for a crime you didn’t commit.
DNA evidence is not 100% and any good barrister will tell you that.
It’s only an “indicator” and on its own would never stand up in court.
I think the DNA dada base is waste of time, only the true and the good will be on it voluntary, the main criminals will always find away round it.
23 February, 2008 at 11:34 am #313908If this were a man, would any of you be surprise?
This has been happening to men for a long time and nice to see a women being trapped in the same way.
23 February, 2008 at 11:28 am #313743She does have a valid case and will get about 100k for this.
It’s the same law that stops us all from “booby trapping” ageist burglars.
Basically the “junk mail” issue is not point of the case, all occupiers of buildings or flats must insure that their premises are safe for anyone visiting or using them.
In this case it wasn’t.
He homeowner is at fault; he did install a dangerous letterbox.
They’re no different in law between a dangerous letter box and electrifying your fence with 10,000 volts, they are both a hazier.
This man is probably going to lose his home over this and his only recourse is to sue the installer and makers of the letter box.
I would say to any home own, look at your home insurant policy and make sure your cover for this kind of problem.
16 February, 2008 at 7:06 pm #312551I think pb could be right.
There are two kinds of wireless router, one for phones lines and one for cable.
Where did you get it?
Do you have cable or phone line?
13 February, 2008 at 6:00 pm #312150your e-score: 86
your e-group: e-expert
your e-ranking: 856/12977The soding thing is fixed.
11 February, 2008 at 2:16 am #311133I think most of you have underestimated what web cams can do, there not just for the likes of pb “bashing one out” on a cam.
They have move on in the last 5 years and are much better than they once was.
There are a whole range of software that you can now download for them from using them has a security/nanny cam you can view from a mobile phone to connecting them to a telescope to take pictures of the night sky.
I think if you are the kind of person who likes using sites like “your tube” or any social net working sites they are useful.
But if you’re the kind of person who thinks there just for the “dirty mac brigade” don’t buy one, but for most people they are a lot of fun.
