Labour for me.
I would have considered voting Green, but my Labour MP is very good.

Line of Duty has two episodes to run and I’ve already guessed who the masked killer is – Roz Huntley’s cop boss.
It’s a good series but has become predictable. The interviews which put the interviewee on the spot are what my ex-boss used to do. The creepy-deepy tune building up is geared to get your adrenaline going – an old trick. The…[Read more]

I very much wish I could write something more positive about Labour here, but I write it as I see it, not as I want it to be..
I do feel that Corbyn is going to get crucified, despite attempting (rightly) to lead a strong Labour, social welfare campaign.
He’s refusing to mention Brexit, and is relying on the anti-establishment mood which led to…[Read more]

I do feel that Corbyn is going to get crucified, despite attempting (rightly) to lead a strong Labour, social welfare campaign.
He’s refusing to mention Brexit, and is relying on the anti-establishment mood which led to Brexit, to Trump’s victory and to the popularity of Le Pen and Mélenchon. That mood isn’t really there in the UK now – it was…[Read more]

these are all songs from my childhood..
Brings back memories –
but also not good songs.
I remember one song about some bubble-gum car which was constantly beeping the guy’s chevvy? Also Hang Down Your Head, Tom Dooley? And Rhythm of the Falling Rain?? Freight Train?
What a tortured childhood I had!!!

Thank you, oracle.
But people (rightly, in my view) rejected electoral reform in a referendum back in 2011. I don’t see tht on the agenda again for some time.

Drac, referring back to 20215 is very misleading. We’ve had a referendum since then, in whihc the Tory Right wing and UKIP campainged victoriously. The UKIP has lost its distinct appeal. It#’s lost a lost of support since the referendum. It’s imploded, and has lost its only MP, apart fomr losing a number of key leaders to the Tories. Time to…[Read more]

The hard-core UKIP voter – how many of them now? UKIP must be hoping to pick up Labour voters who can stick Corbyn, but the Copeland result showed that they’re as likely to go to the Tories. The UKIP threat to the Tories whihc triggered the referendum has all but gone; I don’t see a UKIP threat to Tory seats. The result will tell, but I don’t…[Read more]

Certainly looks good if you’re a Tory.
Obviously a tactical move, and things look good for her at the moment.
She has a majority until 2020, though, so calling an election on opinion polls which aren’t exactly reliable has a lot to do with uncertainly about what the lie of the land will look like in 2020. Things could look quite dicey then, with…[Read more]
