I’ve had problems with Mooosey,
but I have great respect for her.
Her personal decisions seem to me to be very unselfish.
The probems that arise from those decisions make her shine the more.
Trump(eting) material success just doesn’t impress me. It’s the quality of a person of a person who counts.

Agreed about the lack of humanity and compassion..
but Trump’s racism is the more worrying.
When the US Vice president visited one of the concentration camps this brutal man has had set up on the Mexican border, the conditions and smell made him physically sick.

Well, I hope milky doesn’t take my response to be a barbed put-down, because I didn’t quite intend it that way.
Not a soft response, but meant in a good humour.
If he takes it too badly, though, then it’s not my intention

milky, I hang my head in shame, not knowing my geography despite being a teecher in 4 different countries
except I’ve not been a teecher in 4 different countries,
but it doesn’t matter.
Wait, should that be spelled teacher rather than teecher
Never mind, the House condemned Trump for his racist tweets today.
But he must know…[Read more]

linda, I know that you have participated in New York’s local political system. That gives you authority to speak with confidence about New York’s political system in the localities, at least in one locality, and if I wanted to know about how the system worked at that level I would ask you for sure.
But you have never worked in the local…[Read more]

I really liked this song, inspired by the landing on the moon.

The comic legend George Catlin was always brutally honest.
Inequality in America has been growing, not just under trump.
It’s nothing to do with who is president (though that’s important).
It’s to do with power, and with the way the economy accumulates capital.
Catlin, who was arrested with Lenny Bruce over his use of the ‘seven dirty words”,…[Read more]

milky, not true, but
this is about whether Trump is a racist or not.

What is your point, Linda?
You asked me if I liked any presidents. I pointed to three I admire.
Is it that I think Trump is a scoundrel, and you like him?
OK. True. So why ask?

Trump#’s racism is confirmed by the House today. He argues that people of colour should go home – the racist slogan of the National Front in this country. In this country, blacks and Asians were seen by the NF as non-British because they are black and Asian. The Squad are home, and they are elected, as Republican Senator Lindsey Graham said, and…[Read more]

I’ve no idea where hargeisa is, so why should I say how wonderful it is there?
I know Bristol pretty well, but I don’t support fgm or the harassment of West Indians, whihc was going on when I lived there a long time ago.

In case someone doesn’t have a sense of humour – and this is jc – that last post was not meant seriously. if you do have a baby, don’t leave a half-starved Rottweiler to guard it. In fact, don’t have a Rottweiler

Well, I bumped into someone with a Rottweieller on a walk a few years ago, and I was assured that they were very very friendly and useful dogs. They love being cuddled and wrestled with.
I remember a few years earlier how a half-starved Rottweiler in someone’s back yard would put any opportunist thief off. They would think twice when they heard…[Read more]

Sara,
thanks for your post. It led me to find out more about Representative Omar.
If you’re right about Ilhan Omar, and you aren’t right, then you haven’t addressed the OP that Trump is a racist pig for demanding that American congresswomen go back home when their home is the US.
You’re not right about Ilhan Omar because she never laughed…[Read more]

Linda, I mentioned in a responding post the names of Jefferson, Lincoln and FD Roosevelt. Those are the three Presidents I admire.
I’m not sure of the point you’re trying to make.
