Merkel should get the plonker of the year award for this doozy of an idea. You couldn’t make it up could you?

I’m not sure if that is relevent to the attack at all, but it is a bad idea to let people who are not properly qualified to drive lorries because their nationality.

It seems like the attack might have had support from within the Tunisian government though. They denied he was a Tunisian national to avoid him being deported from Germany, and within 24 hours of the attack they provided paperwork proving his nationality, potentially allowing him to return and avoid prosecution. I’m not familiar enough with the German legal system to know exactly what this means though.

Drac…how come you are such an expert….or at least lead us to believe you are ….on muslims…terrorism…government intelligence…government internal affairs? What is your connection? Joe Bloggs does not and will not know about all the stuff you type…even if they are remotely interested in the topics

I don’t think I ever claimed to be an expert, and i’m not. But I have talked to a lot of people about these topics, and i’ve done my own research on them.

If you want to know specifically what my connections to islamic terrorism are, I have a Belgian friend who I have not been able to contact since the day before the Brussels attack in March. The only conclusion I can come to is that he was one of the casualties. I have also experienced one of the so called ‘sharia zones’ in France first hand. So I suppose I am more motivated to stop these things from happening than the average person.

Not allowed in your household…..yet one of your children celebrates Christmas outside the household….that seems very strange to me…care to explain as I find that very confusing As adults we can allow or not allow anything should we wish so…we live in a world of choice

I have very strong personal reasons for not wanting to celebrate it. It’s best for me not to have constant reminders about christmas everywhere in my home. Maybe allowed was the wrong word to describe it, I don’t know.

How much are states willing to pay.

Hopefully they don’t have to pay anything, these attacks are preventable with the right policies.

I can and could post countless utube videos, links to military sites etc. The problem is internet experts know it all. They would argue blue is black, grey is green, they don’t debate based on FACTS, factual evidence, They debate on what they assume they know, about every subject under the sun. A never ending discussion. It’s not about facts, is it, with know it alls, it never is.

I can’t tell if you’re talking about me or not. But you showed me evidence, and I changed my position in response to it.

I have to choose my words carefully to pass the site rules. When folk claim they are experts on every subject known to man, they usually aren’t. Despite their explanations that have a vague logic, but are inaccurate. Anti terrorist automatic rising bollards tested at TRL, stopping a lorry at 80kph, crash tested to PAS68, and ASTM F2656, by Avon Barrier

There are a couple of issues with the testing in that video, but they do appear to be functional. The main problem I have with the testing was that the lorries were empty, which reduces the momentum that has to be absorbed by the bollards. Assuming that they still work as efficently it looks like the contents of the lorry would not be decelerated and still cause injuries in a crowd which isn’t ideal. The other issue is that they are very slow to rise, which limits how effective they would be for automatic deployment.

I still don’t think they would stop a tank from driving either through or over them, which you promised. But I will admit I was wrong on this issue, it is possible to design bollads that can stop a lorry.

What is it about then?

The implication I think, is that I created this thread to attack muslims. Which is very clearly nonsense given that I have mentioned having muslims friends in other threads, and such. But SHR doesn’t actually read most of what I post, which is shown by thinking that I was American. Lol.

The police are now hunting this man:

Lets hope this is actually the right person this time. I heard that the Berlin police force wasn’t very good, but arresting the wrong person on such a public case is pretty embaressing for them.

I have no intention of explaining anything to you. If I did explain, you would still have an answer. Via google. Got to dash now, got a meeting with an important client in Weatherspoons.

You can mock me all you like. But what you are describing doesn’t seem posible without violating the first law of thermodynamics (conservation of energy), the bollard has to transfer all the kinectic energy in the lorry (or tank in this case) into something else. Where does it go?  The most likely is transferal of kinetic energy into the ground, but I don’t know of any foundation material that would be strong enough to spread the force, concrete would just shatter with such a sudden shock.

Yes, other than driving tanks and other large military vehicles for 12 years, what do I know about them and the strategic placement of anti tank measures. Doh! You got me there Draculina, another subject on which you are an expert.

Can you explain exactly how these bollads work then? Because my understanding is that a tank can drive over pretty much any object ~1 metre tall. It’s what they’re designed to do (To cross trenches really, but those aren’t common anymore).

Stop pretending this subject is about Berlin… It isn’t and never was.

    Well, it is

And just for reference, I didn’t create this thread, Martin deleted the first post by accident. If you don’t believe me then ask him.

I don’t celebrate christmas, any discussion of it, or decorations are not allowed in my house.

You could maybe say it is offensive to me, but I don’t really think that is the right word.

If you don’t celebrate it fair enough…but let your little children have the memories in school we had when growing up…so they can look back with fond memories in years to come…..when they are older they can make a decision to branch off whichever way they want to.

My children, at least the one who is old enough to have enough understanding of what a religion is, is a christian.

She goes to her grandparent’s house with my girfriend every weekend for church services, and that’s where they celebrate christmas.
