I watch the tv programme and you’re only allowed to invite 3 guests.

    Oh I forgot to mention..you’re invited too…

..I need someone to do the dishes.

I heard you use those disposable cardboard dishes.
Anyway, I’ll be busy with my own get together. :?

And I heard you use cardboard disposable FOOD. I was forgetting..I wouldn’t want you near my dishes..what with your fungal nail infection and scabies.
Enjoy your melee with the scruffs!

I felt a funeral in my brain,
    by Emily Dickinson

I felt a funeral in my brain,
    And mourners, to and fro,
Kept treading, treading, till it seemed
    That sense was breaking through.

And when they all were seated,
    A service like a drum
Kept beating, beating, till I thought
    My mind was going numb

And then I heard them lift a box,
    And creak across my soul
With those same boots of lead, again.
    Then space began to toll

As all the heavens were a bell,
    And being, but an ear,
And I and Silence some strange Race
    Wrecked, solitary, here.

All of my nieces (and nephews) have carte blanche regarding partners sleeping over, which horrifies me..but then I’m just jealous because my parents never allowed me that kind of leeway..I wasn’t permitted a boyfriend in the bedroom even during the hours of daylight..so we would go elsewhere to have our fun.
The old parental refrain of “As long as you’re living in MY house you’ll do as I say.” seems confined to the dustbin of yesteryear.

Three course meal, 4 strangers coming into your home for the evening
Marks out of 10 given secretly for overall evening
    £1,000 prize for the winner

I would start with a chestnut, mango and red pepper pate or a nice lentil soup with home made bread..

to follow..vegetarian cottage pie ( a mix of garden veg..onions..mushrooms..courgettes..chopped runner beans..carrots..with a touch of paprika.. in a rich onion gravy and topped with buttery mashed potato and Orkney cheddar or any other veggie cheese)

for pudding..lemon and lime torte or an apricot crumble with great dollops of custard (made with soya milk)

    Oh..and I would invite..Mary Queen of Scots..Catherine The Great..Fyodor Dostoevsky and Sergei Prokofiev. :P
