Yes this is the thing I was talking about. For some (as yet unknown reason) the most recent Wundows Update alters the computer’s setting such that it creates a conflict with certainly Zone Alarm (and I think AVG) such that it’s operations are adversly affected.

I read recently that there was an issue caused by Microsoft’s July Windows update for Vista that caused it to create a default on systems running Zone alarm and AVG.

Apparently they are bringing out a ”fix” for this shortly. I am not sure if this is the cause of your problem … but it may be worth an e-mail to Microsoft’s help desk.

Well strangely enough after all the above …. nobody has “asked Admin”. Maybe they’ll phone a friend or take the 50/50 option instead.
