Yes Kermit I reacted quickly and quite rightly too. If you had to deal with the number of (absolutely justified) complaints that the Guides get about abusive users posting personal details including real names and phone numbers, you wouldn’t take the chance either.
Sure its a great laugh – unless it is YOUR stuff that gets posted – then suddenly it isn’t quite so funny. so no Kermit, I won’t chill out when it comes to protecting JustChat users from being threatened or abused.
James…. posting a user’s phone numbers on this message board is totally unacceptable. I have deleted this post and if you do it again I shall delete your account and block your IP permanently. You got that !!!!!
You are so right Minim. Why only recently a female chatroom user trusted another female user and passed on her real name and phone number.
Can you believe that within a week she was getting abusive and threatening phone calls to her home from one of our ”regulars” and the caller said that they had been given the number by this ”trusted” female.
Yes there are some really untrustworthy and sick people around eh???
REMEMBER: People in chatrooms are not always who they say they are. NEVER pass out your personal information to ANYBODY. It just insn’t worth the risk.

I really wish the message would sink in Mary and yes we do get frustrated when we see the same old mistakes being made over and over again.
Certain users are not welcome to chat in the chatrooms because of totally unacceptable conduct and yet they receive support from a few users who tell everybody that so and so ”is alright” or ”doesn’t mean any harm” or is ”just having a bit of fun” and so on.
Clearly they have really short memories or don’t want to believe their ‘friends’ tell of being attacked or having their children threatened with sexual assault and so on.
Sometimes (female) users will even tip these abusers off in MSN whether a ChatGuide is in the Forum or not so that they can come in and ”enjoy themselves”. Why on earth would anybody do such a thing???? Surely they must realise the damage that is done by the abusive users???
