Yes I can understand that – but I prefer to leave it up to the individual user to decide if they want to pay or not.
This software is really good and I think it is worth the money. I have Diskeeper 9.0 Pro and it cost me $49.50 (tha’s US dollars NOT Pounds Sterling).
If you are uncertain about spending the money ”blind” there is a Trialware version which is FOC for a time limited period.

Well after much comparing I finally noticed that your snide little dig at Geoff’s site (gatecrashing) was removed. Well as Geoff has retired from flaming on here it was a bit unnecessary to take a poke at him – especially as he doesn’t post here any more.
You say you don’t want any more flaming wars Owen, but that sort of backhanded swipe at Geoff would have sparked off yet another round huh?
I pointed out that Gatecrashing has controls in place regarding flaming and
that if it can be done there it can be done here. :roll:OK Owen, I’ll take your remark at its face value i.e. you were just trying to be helpful in a genuine way.
So please tell us all what these ”controls” are so that we can see if our users want them on this board OK???
Read the polls if you want to see that JC users don’t mind fighting as long as it’s controlled!
I understand that Owen – and the polls say what they say.
HOWEVER, my question to you is ”What are these ”controls” that you say Gatecrashing has on their site and apparently we don’t have on this site???”
You say that Gatecrashing ”…has controls in place regarding flaming” so please tell us what they are OK???
31 January, 2006 at 10:05 am #185562I am delighted that your solution worked. I had to do this once with a new XP Op system as the receiver and an old Win 98SE as the donor using a ‘crossover’ cable and it was a long drawn out nightmare.
Owen may I comment of your helpful defragmenting link?
Microsoft’s defragmenting tool that comes bundled with Windows XP (Home or Pro) is not particularly good. It’s pretty slow and if anything is running in the background it has a tendency to abort.
I use a defragmenter from Executive Software called ”Diskeeper”. If you go to http://www.diskeeper.com/diskeeper/diskeeper.asp you will find out all about it. I use the ‘Pro’ version but I can highly recommend it as it can fully defrag a disk in a fraction of the time that Microsoft’s offering takes and it isn’t sensitive to other applications running at the same time so it won’t abort half way through due to ”disk activity”.
Give it a try.

Jesus PB, I thought the same thing about his remark towards Geoffs site, Owen is a dufus, a big fat flamer. He is simply a whiner.
Well I’m not so sure about the adjectives describing him. But his certainly did seem to me to be a bit peevish about his little little point.
Fair enough – he wants everybody to stop all the fighting etc etc but then he complains about censorship when his sniping little remark is removed.
It doesn’t seem to be terribly consistent does it? Maybe I am missing something obvious????

30 January, 2006 at 12:51 pm #185276Well it was such a wonderful public statement of your most private feelings for your loved one that I simply had to shed a tear.
True and lasting lurve is so rare these days, it’s a pleasure being able to be a small part of it – along with the rest of the JC community.

Thanks for your input people. 8)
I see that part of my post has been censored. I’d like a explenation as to
why, but I don’t anticipate I’ll receive one. :roll:Er…. for the record Owen, I have not ”censored” your post. What has been changed altered or deleted about it???
30 January, 2006 at 10:42 am #185274Awwwww that’s sooooo sweet, I want to cry now !!!
