I agree with all of the above comments – it really is terribly distressing. Even when you anticipate the death of a loved one, when it actually happens its always a shock.

I’m also delighted that ALL the politicians chose to express their condolences in the way that they did and not to fight & squabble as usual. it did them great credit and set an excellent example.

…. or maybe there’s a THIRD person involved in …er … hiding gnomes – and they couldn’t remove it ????

Banana and toffee sauce fillings are yummy, but I really missed my favourite – brown sugar + lemon juice + a liberal splash of Grand Marnier.. mmmmmmmmmm.

Actually, I’d have thought this sort of thing was pretty good for business jen-jen.

I can just see all those smelly unwashed ‘new age’ hippies pouring in to purchase the latest ‘thing’ to ward off the attacks of the insidious – including little green men from a spaceship.

BTW: are YOUR customers the bastards that buy up all the corned beef in the supermarkets every time a conspiracy theorist comes up with a new one????

Much to my intense annoyance, I didn’t get any pancakes yesterday. Instead I had inflicted on me one of the worst meals I’ve had this Century.

Boiling hot so-called Asparagus soup – a tasteless green slimy liquid that literally had no taste and clearly came from some godawfully cheap catering pack of instant ‘soup’.

The main course purported to be shepherd’s pie – or it could have been cottage pie – that again had been so zapped in the microwave that all the flavour was boiled out of it leaving only a horrid mess swimming in a bright orange grease.

When I enquired whether the meat was beef or lamb (‘cos i couldn’t tell) the manager asked me if i enjoyed it. Hmmmmm.

Even the cheese was still solid from the freezer.

Give me home cooking any day.

I think I’ve sussed it. Will’s latest poll – the one inviting people to boot others in the bum – went wrong and everybody booted Will’s bum.

Result: he’s in the local A & E unit while they try to surgically remove somebody’s toecap.

Ah ha … I have to admit I didn’t take into account the age of your computer and possible incompatibility of its USB ports. Well at least you have grounded out the problem with the I-pod AND installed an effective registry cleaner.

It’s always the way isn’t it? We rush off to buy the latest gizmo so that we can download music whilst walking the dog or hiking in Snowdonia or somesuch, and completely forget that every new “toy” or gadget is specifically made to be incompatible with its predecessors.

This built in obsolescence is a sneaky way for manufacturers to get you to buy more and more of their stuff eh?

Anyway what’s the point of storing up to 3,000 tunes on your I-pod? It would take you over a month to listen to them all once only if you played them constantly 7 hours a day 7 days a week.

Oh Christ – I really wish you hadn’t posted that. Now all the conspitacy theorists and assorted other lunatics will be seeing little green men and imagining that aliens are landing in Area 51 (or wherever).

Can you please make it more clear in future that this is simply a comet, and not the approach of the end of the world.

In the post is states clearly that this is a comet – also it is posted in the serious category.

I know it was Fi-Fi, and my reply was (almost) serious too. The fact is that every time a naturally occurring phenomenon happens (like a comet passing for example) all the bloody loonies come out of their darkened cellars, rush to the supermarkets and buy up all the corned beef.

You can almost guarantee that these events will provoke a whole series of amazing claims usually revolving around the subject of the coming Armageddon, or “global warming” or some similar fantasy.

Doncha just love conspiracy theorists and the weird assortment of single issue bigots.

At least she bathes – be grateful for small mercies.

As for Will …. he arranged a meeting for “all those JC Regs that you miss” – but they all missed it. He’s still waiting for one to turn up.

Good luck Will, and may God bless all who sail in you.
