So …. to get back on topic (as the lunatic Bat suggested) – Sainsburys was also manic this afternoon. God only knows why. The car park had lengthy queues to get into it and there were few if any spaces left.

Luckily, I managed to get one of the last spaces reserved for the disabled – but it was a close run thing that’s for sure. At least I parked nice and close to the entrance.

All the fresh vegetables were sold out – and I do mean all of ’em. A few packets of dried up lettuce and one bunch of spring onions remained. No spuds …no carrots … no turnips …. no greens …. nothing. What on earth is going on???

The bread counter was almost bare and so was the fresh meat & fish.

I had to panic and buy up anything I could before anybody else got it I can tell you.

Does that apply to all advocates for using nuclear weaponry or just the ones who speak a different language and are not members of JC ?

By an accident of birth I wasn’t born in a refugee camp, situated within the borders of what was once my parent’s home. If I had I really could see myself with the other children throwing stones at tanks too. Now if I’d been born on the other side, I sincerely hope that I’d be one of the many who are a lot more rational and far less xenophobic than some on here with their absurd ‘fairytale’ imaginings.

As you already knew, before posing the question, membership of JC specifically exempts one from any sanctions associated with the use of nuclear weapons.

However, and to be slightly less flippant – the circumstances of one’s birth (accidental or otherwise) should not and cannot be used as some sort of justification for bad behaviour (including throwing stones at tanks etc).

It’s as fatuous an argument as suggesting that if you are born in a deprived area this is somehow justification for being a criminal. Life is all about making choices – including bad ones.

BTW – did you really mean “xenophobia” i.e. an intense fear or dislike for people from other countries???

God only knows where you got this fixation for eating turkey from Bat…… especially Tesco turkeys.

If you simply have to scoff this tasteless meat, then at least get a quality one…… not some cheap and nasty old bird from bloody Tesco ffs!!!

The only thing that’s tougher than Tesco meat is Tesco shop assistants.

You’d be far better off buying a Gressingham duck and roasting that for Christmas (I did). Nice tasty meat; complimented by orange sauce with just a touch of added Grand Marnier or Cointreau; roast potatoes and of course seasonal Brussels sprouts. Mmmmmm yummy!!!

BTW don’t mention eating ducks to ForumHostGM or she’ll climb on her broomstick and plague you.

I watched a programme a few days ago about Alexandra Burke where the cameras followed her around shortly after she won the 2008 X-Factor.

She came over as a really nice natural person with an infectious laugh and a caring attitude towards others.

It was so refreshing to see that she didn’t give us the “pop star diva” routine. So many of them are simply spoilt brats heavily disguised as adults.

Alezandra came across as a nice person and a pleasure to watch and listen to.

Shouldn’t have thought so Bas. After all whenever did a fanatic allow common sense, reason, or a sense of humanity to get in the way of their bigoted rantings???

And this really is the bottom line isn’t it? IF the terrorists and their fellow travellers do finally summon up the courage to directly attack Israel, you can bet your bum that the Israelis will not be considering ”proportionality” when they defend themselves.

The people of Gaza elected Hamas to power in what was generally considered to be a free and fair election.

Yes Hamas activists were elected, but am I not right that Fatah politicians actually hold the balance of ‘legal’ power? Hamas control the so called police and thus exert actual control over Gaza, out of all proportion to their ‘elected’ power.

As I understand it, Fatah doesn’t particularly like Israel but is prepared to co-exist with them, whereas Hamas (and by inference Hisbollah) want to see all Israelis exterminated and the entire country obliterated.

Yup …. sounds like a great recipe for peace to me huh?

911 is a very popular number at xmas in America.. why ?
because you can phone 911 (and i believe 999 now) without a SIM card so they receive the gift of a cell phone and they want to try it out… 911 it is

“Emergency …. which service are you calling???”

“Er…. the SIM card provision service.”

“What address are you calling from???”

“Why do you need to know that???”

“So we can send a Police officer round with your brand new SIM card”

“Oh right. Is that all he wants to do???”

“No, he’ll offer you some seasonal words of advice tailored to your particular need…… madam.” “Oh and you be sure to have a nice day now won’t you?”
