She still does (just). Mind you she’s only 10.

I’ve pinched her letter to Father Christmas … and I’ll tell her that it must have got lost in the post. Pity about that eh?

If that doesn’t work, then I’ll blame the recession or fuel shortage for Father Christmas’s sleigh missing out our road this year.

    Christmas??? ….. bah humbug !!!

Ah, questions questions … always questions.

If only we had the answers eh?

Well it now seems as though Sharon Shoesmith is to get the Spanish violin (el bow) from LB Haringey following the release of the ghastly details of the Baby P enquiry.

I am greatly amused however, at the reporting antics of the so-called popular Media. “Don’t pay her” they scream. “Failure should not be rewarded” and so on.

As I’ve said already, she has a perfectly legal contract of employment and if her employers terminate it (or constructively dismiss her) then they will HAVE to pay her dameges in breach of contract. If they try to avoid this, they will be utterly stuffed at a Tribunal.

Remember the chief executive of the Maidstone NHS Trust a while ago? She was ‘sacked’ following a public outcry over low standards and high death rates in her hospital. When the Media discovered that she would be entitled to receive an enormous severance package (damages for breach of contract) the Government stepped in and grabbed some juicy headlines.

“She won’t get a penny” they all screamed. OK so once the fuss had died down, the NHS did what it was going to have to do all along and settled with her (the previously mentioned ‘enormous severance package’).

Dear Sharon will get her big fat cheque and her enhanced pension contribution, no problem. Tough at the top ain’t it?

I don,t beleive this. That bloody useless Shoesmith is likely to have to stand down, but with a bloody fat pay cheque to go with it!! I hope it bloody chokes her.

Whilst I totally agree with the sentiments behind the article in the Daily Fascist (sorry …. Mail) as always they are looking for a provocative headline without any regard for the underlying facts.

The dreadful Shoesmith is the Director of Education and Children’s Services and has a ‘legal’ contract with the LB of Haringey. Her appointment can only be terminated without pay etc IF she is PERSONALLy in breach of her contract (gross misconduct; a criminal offence; etc etc). If her contract is terminated by her employer for any other reason (i.e. she is FORCED to resign) then they themselves are in breach and must compensate her acordingly. This is what they will be doing it seems…… IF she is forced to resign.

These contracts are pretty tightly worded, in conjunction with advice from the LA’s Legal Department and HR Department. I know this as I was very involved in the interview and appointment of my Local Authority’s Director of Education & Children’s Services and was involved in setting up his remuneration package.

Whether we like it or not (and most of us DON’T) she was only doing what ANY equivalent Director would do – that is to defend her department. Sadly, the manner in which she chose to do it, and the apparently arrogant and uncaring attitude that she displayed whilst appearing on national TV has clearly damaged her and no doubt made her position untenable.

Oh dear oh dear Dawny, we should have BOTH kept quiet here.

Ruth has gone. Oh …… My … God – how COULD this have happened???? With her amazing singing voice, with her fantastic performances tonight ….. and the great unwashed voted her off the show. Un-effing-believable.

And what’s worse – that silly little whingeing girl Diana survived. On and on she went about how nervous she was and how she’s only just feeling better – cue sympathy votes – and we have to put up with her for another week.

So two of the best singing talents we’ve seen emerge for a long long time (Ruth and Laura) have been voted off. Bloody good job that Leona Lewis wasn’t in this year’s X Factor or the stupid phone voters would probably have got rid of her as well.

I shall now retire in a great sulk and put the boot into next door’s cat.

I know what you mean Dawny …. felt the same myself for ….oh …. about 10 seconds.

But what about tonight’s performances eh?

Ruth Lorenzo. WOW !!! I love her. She’s so bloody sexy and she sings like a dream.

Alexandra – what a performance, what a lovely voice. She is just sooooo good.

As for the other three ”also rans”. I really really hope that we see the last of Diana. No shoes AGAIN tonight and that horrid squeaky out of tune stupid little voice. Forget it lady.

JLS – marginally better this week, but still very wooden. Only one guy has a sort of voice and has three crooners to back him up a bit – sort of like The Drifters but with the charisma removed.

Owen (Ugh-an) – I’m getting to find his little boy look rather irritating. He may appeal to a certain type of 10-14 year old little girly popstar wannabe – but I think he should go back to playing with his Nintendo.

We shall see what the great British (unwashed) public thinks later on.
