Your questionnaire is flawed in that it doesn’t afford a ‘I don’t like any of these posters in Q20’ and therefore a ‘Neither cos they are all crap’ option in Q21. This means I couldn’t submit my response and have wasted my fekking time! Not happy!
26 July, 2006 at 7:57 pm #232617I rarely go to the cinema of my own accord – mainly if the kids want to see something. The cost is a disgrace and I begrudge paying £7 to see a kids movie when it is clear I am only there to protect (and control!) my kids. If they let adults in free for kids films I think more people would go along. Does anyone think that going with the kids to watch ANY film at the cinema provides a ‘Value for Money’ experience?
I also dislike unaccompanied teens/kids misbehaving and talking/phoning etc during films but this probably goes back to the parents not wanting (or able) to pay to go in with them. If we do have to pay their rip-off prices then the cinema should at least ensure the place is monitored – when is the last time you saw an usher’s torch heading towards unruly kids?
With entry, snacks and parking to pay for, it costs the best part of £40 for me and two kids to have the ‘big screen experience’ – invariably to watch a load of shyte. We could get a Chinese carry-out and a whole weekend’s worth of rented DVD’s for that price.
Telly’s are bigger, screen and sound quality is better and DVD’s are out earlier too.
Hmm, this turned into a rant Sarge, sorry :x
26 July, 2006 at 6:37 pm #231229Accept! We can buy some new kit and go on the lash. We could maybe get a new minibus and name it after Pikey (like those Eddie Stobart lorries).

Not to say this woman would have gone to the gallows, but she isn’t the first miscarriage of all time.
Ok Becky, it wasn’t joking about the mother or baby, it was a very cheap shot at Magoo’s bad grammar and posted immediately underneath his post. I thought people would get it but I misjudged it. I do really want to leave it now but I thought it appropriate to explain the comment to you since you raised the matter. Ok, I am off to watch Emmerdale with Geoff.
26 July, 2006 at 5:42 pm #232399Ok fair do’s – it was a cheap joke but in no way was it intended to make fun of the poor woman concerned – and Geoff knew that. Anyway, if anyone WAS offended (including Geoff) I apologise. I will certainly give Geoff a break and would hope Geoff will give other people (Drivel etc) a break too and focus his replies on facts instead of namecalling. Ok, i am outta this post – back to the people with serious comments.
26 July, 2006 at 4:48 pm #232397I wasn’t making fun of the death of a baby, I think it’s a disgrace and a tragedy – I was making fun of you. And no point pretending you are all ‘holier than thou’, cos you are one of the biggest troublemakers in here.
26 July, 2006 at 1:18 pm #232396It wasn’t a miscarriage, it was a cot death
26 July, 2006 at 9:17 am #231221well I am not one to make excuses but… I lost one of my new contact lenses and was searching for it in the long grass. Rather unsporting of their attacker to take advantage, you would have thought he would have put the ball out of play. I must see if I can get some of those ‘wrap around’ specs like Edgar Davids wears.
25 July, 2006 at 11:07 pm #231215Woohoo – unbeaten during pre-season tho. Good start! Can we have an end of pre-season party?
25 July, 2006 at 9:59 pm #231210Did anyone get the score? I had concussion and can’t remember (not during the match btw, I got in a fight in the pub carpark afterwards – someone called our goalie a girl)
