    The dog drowned too.

I have to admit I almost jumped in a river once after my dog when he got tangled up in some weeds and looked like he was drowning. People form strong bonds with their pets, and your natural instinct can take over and common sense can go out of the window, as it seems to have done for these two people leaving behind an orphan. So sad.

I see what you mean, but you wouldn’t have left your baby in a pram unattended to try and save the dog surely?

Not me, but don’t forget she was going in after her husband who had got into difficulties, as well as the dog. When things like that happen I guess you can lose your reasoning a little, she probably saw hubby and dog in immediate danger, whilst her child in the pram was “safe”….like I said, common sense can go out of the window.

    Pot calling the kettle black?

Actually BT did an upgrade at the exchange and accidentally cut off broadband for about 250 people (well that’s their explanation anyway!)…..makes you realise how much you rely on your pc these days, and not just for waffling on chat boards!

If we locked every thread where someone or other waffled, there’d be no open threads!

Hello and welcome to JC, pull up a chair, get a drink and tell us all about yourself :D

I guess that’s the trouble about making jokes about any illness, there will always be someone around who has seen that illness affect someone they care about….but then isn’t joking about it how we cope with it? When my friend was dying of cancer, some of our most hilarious conversations and jokes were about her illness….and I wouldn’t change that for the world, it was how we coped with it all.

Sometimes, for reasons best known to itself, Explorer will get incredibly slow at loading pages on my pc….that’s when I like to change to Firefox. Nice to have a choice…..
