The bible itself isn’t even clear on who Jesus is, or even if he was a singular person. This is best demonstrated by the reaction the crowd gave to Barabbas, when given the choice between him and Jesus. They acted as if Barabbas was the one who performed the micracles, not Jesus.
Barabbas translates to ‘son of the father’, and some versions of…[Read more]

If the Abrahamic god existed it would be trivially easy to prove.
If god interacted whith the physical universe in anyway, we could detect and study the interaction and conclude that no known force could have caused the interaction other than outside interference.
No such interactions have ever been recorded.
So we must conclude that either…[Read more]

Being fairly new to my faith I am not well educated, I’m still finding my way but if the shroud was proved true I think its very compelling evidence.

There are plenty of still living scientists, or recently deceased, on that list. I just didn’t copy them all. You asked for some names, I gave them, now you’re changing the goalposts.

There are over 150 listed after 1900, less than that before so you may want to revise that statement.

I’m not really sure that carbon dating would prove anything, the bible doesn’t say much about when Jesus was suppose to be alive. It mentions Pontius Pilate, who was in power around 36–39 AD, but naming the wrong roman official doesn’t really matter that much, the Roman Empire was around in some form in the general area until the 15th Century. A…[Read more]

I have never said anyone is going to hell nor do I think i am arrogant. I’m not stupid either.
There are highly respected scientists that believe in God as well as atheists.
Don’t assume faith equals stupidity. Is it not arrogant to say that believing in God is ludicrous?
My faith is my own, I dont “preach” or belittle people who dont believe what I do.

I don’t see how you could prove that the shroud was used on Jesus.
If Jesus was a real person, we don’t what what he looked like, or have his DNA (if he even had DNA, being God).
Even if through carbon dating, or some other method showed that the shround wasn’t 2000 years old, it doesn’t disprove that it was used by Jesus either. As there is no…[Read more]

I agree it has not been properly tested, the Catholic Church wont allow it apparently, which is a shame. There have been a lot of things discovered, like pollen unique to the area being found on the shroud.
How the image got there cant, as yet, be explained or replicated. That makes me curious.…[Read more]

All I can say really is that we are all entitled to our beliefs.
Moosey, we may disagree on our veiws about God but that is what makes life interesting. I have no problem with your lack of belief and have never felt you disrespect mine. I actually like discussingopposing veiws, I think we can all learn something from differing stances.
