11 December, 2010 at 6:23 pm #456265Before he died and in his wisdom (bless him) my dad decided to replace the garage window on my mums garage himself.
He did a lovely job making the frame himself and resited the window more internally so it left an external cill.
Ok so all was well until recently I noticed the huge cracks in the garage wall… The original window was acting as a lintle holding the brickwork up!!
So needles to say the wall is sagging and cracked… Will a new window in the right place sort it out or will she need the wall rebuilt?
God bless my Non DIY Dad’s soul (I hope he couldn’t hear what she called him up in heaven lol)
11 December, 2010 at 6:18 pm #456297Quick and Easy Hearty Veg Soup… fool proof! Low Fat!
2 Sticks Celery
2 medium Carrots
Medium Leek
large Potato
generous Handful of Lentils
pinch of mixed herbs
salt and pepper to taste
Water
Knorr veg StockpotAll the veg amounts can be adjusted to suit you! Chop all the veg to bite sized pieces, bung into a large pan, add the seasoning and herbs and lentils, boil the kettle and add to stockpot, I usually use about a pint and a half of water but this again can be altered to suit if you want thick broth or a lighter soup. Add to pan stock. Bring back to boil and simmer for about half an hour.. or until all veg is tender.
If you want to add bacon or ham you can just adjust salt.
10 December, 2010 at 6:36 am #456148It really annoys me when the children bring home a list of class namesin order for me to write all of their cards.. whyyy?? I would prefer them to pick a few select friends!
I send cards but my amount has fallen dramatically to about 20 or so.
I always buy ones to support charity too
9 December, 2010 at 2:44 pm #455779In some countries Santa doesn’t even come on 25th dec, take Holland for example the children there leave clogs or shoes outside of their front doors for Sinterklaas aka St Nicholas to leave them gifts in. St Nicholas’ Day is the 6th Dec. Dutch tradition tells how Sinterklaas comes from Madrid too!
