I just researched this and the average firefighter gets 21K a year and works a 42 hour pw shift, on this basis it works out that they are paid £9.60 per hour… I wouldn’t risk my life for that money. Who can blame them if they subsidise their income with other jobs. With average house prices at 7 or 8 times their salary it’s no wonder!

In real life I am an extrovert, wear my heart on my sleeve, speak my mind and take no prisoners, sing all the time, happy go lucky and daft as a brush… not sure if that’s the vibe I give off in here but I never change anything about me for you lot. lol

erm thin! very very interesting that one of my friends who lives here in France asked me who the hell were you?!!!! Who deleted who? Get a life – who goes onto someone’s facebook’s friends (and don’t know who they are) and asks stupid questions about them – that was how she was suspicious – she is a very good friend you stupid idiot – that is why I am posting this to warn others.

It is not necessarily who you personally add, it is who they know, and they know blah blah – I think fb is very dangerous!

Fb is not dangerous if you continue to treat it as your own personal space. Anyone you wouldn’t allow into your personal space you shouldn’t allow into there. It is not rocket science, just use privacy settings, you can stop friends of friends seeing you too.

I am all in favour of workers striking for their rights, and I appreciate the whole point that on November the 5th such strikes would have a huge impact and people might actually take heed and listen to the plight of the fire brigade, but at the same time I wonder how fire personel who join the fire brigade with a sense of duty and passion for saving and promoting life could begin to consider leaving areas without their skills on the busiest night of the year for their services? Are they admirable or irresponsible?

They stopped giving the BCG against TB a few years back to teenagers in school like they used to but instead introduced a vaccine for babies like panda said from certain ethnic groups. Now I hail from Newcastle but for 13 years lived in Luton which was a melting pot of different ethnic cultures, I worked with children some of whom had the TB jab others who did not.. What I wonder is what would stop cross contamination from one ethnic group to another…. The mind boggles! Probably another money saving pinch.
