Laine1.. If I may, some of us if fom UK or not, do wish to help support some one like yourself who may have some necessary surgery which understand will provide discomfort but final results you will be better in the long wrong. Hard to think however, as a chatter myself and often misunderstanding, (for me) comprehension and language barrier as well, why would someone possible suggest “Professor Noel Fitzpatrick.” Also known as Martin Noel Gagan Fitzpatrick, Irish specialist nuero-orthopaedic Veterinary surgeon best known for his work in small animal practice. Perhaps the offer suggestion by another, should be revisited to offer a better surgeon specialist in the field of human people. Maybe, I am wrong, or again responder did not understand your need for understanding and sensitivity, but could not find proper Professor for the human need….could be wrong, but after some research, this area lacked finding correct provider as suggested… Again good luck, Monday….. Linda

    Okayyyy……

Firstly, I’m pretty sure Laine has a decent SOH, and knew exactly where I was coming from and would not take any offence at my tongue in cheek remark. I’m also pretty sure as an intelligent woman and as her surgery is on Monday, that she has done plenty of research and knows exactly the finer points of her surgery without people in a chatroom googling ‘ surgeons’ for her. Prof Noel Fitzpatrick is well known and very popular over here and well loved as well for his compassion and love of all animals, which is why I’m sure Laine understood the remark !!

secondly, As you said that English is your first language I don’t understand why you keep banging on about ‘ language barriers and comprehension’, whats the problem ? Are you from another planet ? were you taught English by a computer program ? Even Americans have a sense of humour, ;-)

Thirdly, I’m pretty sure one of your careers has been in medical profession, surely then you do know that most pioneering surgeries are first practised and adapted by working vets on animals ?  Hip replacements, Knee replacements, shoulders, wrists, spinal fusions ….. years and years ago  and as the Prof quoted ”human joints are not dissimilar to animal joints”

Fourthly, my comment was for Laine, and a small ‘ Good Luck’, not you, so I would prefer it if you didn’t use any of my posts to try and make yourself look like the 2nd Mother Teresa who’s taken an acid tab.
