Windows XP has a File Transfer Wizard. You only need to link the computers
with the special cable. That much I do know.
My guess is that all the work is done on the recipient computer screen. So if
the old laptop is booting and only the screen is screwed, no probs.

pc you wish to copy to is running Windows XP.
