Sandals and socks are definitely a no-no, but when the sun shines and the
breeze is warm sandals are a must. 8)31 January, 2006 at 2:00 am #186136@squeezy wrote:

Well after much comparing I finally noticed that your snide little dig at Geoff’s site (gatecrashing) was removed. Well as Geoff has retired from flaming on here it was a bit unnecessary to take a poke at him – especially as he doesn’t post here any more.
You say you don’t want any more flaming wars Owen, but that sort of backhanded swipe at Geoff would have sparked off yet another round huh?
I pointed out that Gatecrashing has controls in place regarding flaming and
that if it can be done there it can be done here. :roll:30 January, 2006 at 1:23 pm #185728@tommy-toxen wrote:

They do a good job of contaiining at GC
Perhaps you could ask the site admin how and why he does it?@tommy-toxen wrote:
the flamings can be a good fun to read (or good fun to mock the authors), but there’s no need for them to spill over onto serious threads.
Good point ToM, after all we don’t want to see JC users leaving because
of the flaming spilling all over the boards do we?@tommy-toxen wrote:
if someone made a “my mum died of cancer” thread for example they wouldn’t want two selfish f**ks squabbling in it about some unimportant tiff carried on from some other thread.
Quite right ToM. Problem is a lot of them do this stuff, and worse. Then
they get there accounts deleted so no one can trawl up the evidence of
their past misdemeanors.@tommy-toxen wrote:
But if contained, should be encouraged! They bring in the ratings!
Got to disagree there ToM. The number of ‘views’ a thread receives is
massively inflated by just a few contributors. I may ‘view’ a thread five
times to read other peoples posts before I post myself. Then I ‘view’ the
post five times again to read other peoples responses to that post. So
there you have it. I’ve ‘viewed’ the thread twelve times and made only
two posts.30 January, 2006 at 2:14 am #185997@squeezy wrote:
My name isn’t at all unusual (There must be at least 5 others with the same name that I know on the forum)
I just asked why they think it was me and who are they…..
I misunderstood.
I though you meant that someone posted your real name.
