There’s one of the top Spanish teams that work like that, Athletic Bilbao, I think. Like the Yorkshire cricket team used to do, you have to be born around the area to play for the team.

It would be interesting if that was the case in Britain. Newcastle and Sunderland would be, and always would’ve been, fearsome teams – as would Liverpool and West Ham.
