My (ir)regular prayer to JC at the ungodly hour of dawn! Sated with sex and booze.. during my .. umm.. tired and emotional moments :P

(yes, that’s me in the chair)

    National Express

    Take the National Express
When your life’s in a mess
    It’ll make you smile :)

    All human life is here
    From the feeble old dear
    To the screaming child :x

    From the student who knows
That to have one of those
    Would be suicide :o

    To the family man
    Manhandling the pram
    With paternal pride O:)

    And everybody sings
    Ba ba ba da… :D/
    Yeah =D>
    Uh huh 8)
    Alright

We’re going where the air is free :-

    On the National Express
    There’s a jolly hostess
    Selling crisps and tea :D

She’ll provide you with drinks =P~
    And theatrical winks
    For a sky-high fee :?

    Mini-skirts were in style
When she danced down the aisle
    Back in 63 :-

But it’s hard to get by
When your arse is the size
    Of a small country

    And everybody sings
    Ba ba ba da… :D/
    Yeah =D>
    Uh huh 8)
    Alright

We’re going where the air is free :-

    Tomorrow belongs to me

When you’re sad and feeling blue
With nothing better to do :|
Dont just sit there feeling stressed [-X

    NIL BY MOUTH
    (1997)

Gary Oldman’s extraordinary directorial debut is a mighty powerful thing. Although extremely tough to watch, hard and unrelenting; it is nonetheless one of the highest points in British cinematic expression.
Semi-autobiographical, it charts a brutal, socially deprived upbringing in an area of South London. A world where men are trapped in a violent downward spiral of drink, drugs and abuse – laying waste to all around them. It is the women only who exhibit any humanity or love, and daily pay the price for their reason and compassion.

Bleak, shocking, and at times deeply upsetting, it is however compelling art. Oldman takes very few prisoners here, and grants no reprieves. Yet underscoring the harsh realism of it all is a very acute sense of another reality, a redemptive one. The very Freeing Oldman himself refers to in the revealing interview below.

His vision scooped a bucket of awards, including BAFTAs for Best Film, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Actor (an astonishing Ray Winstone).. and Kathy Burke’s tragic, heart-rending turn bagged her both a BAFTA and a Cannes award for Best Actress .

WARNING – The following clips contain very strong language and scenes of domestic violence that may upset and offend.

    Gypsy

So I’m back to the velvet underground
Back to the floor that I love
To a room with some lace and paper flowers
Back to the gypsy that I was
    To the gypsy
    That I was

And it all comes down to you
Well you know that it does
    When lightning strikes
    Maybe once maybe twice
Oh and it lights up the night
    And you see your gypsy
    You see your gypsy

    To the gypsy that remains
Faces freedom with a little fear
    I have no fear
    I have only love
And if I was a child
    And the child was enough
    Enough for me to love
    Enough to love

She is dancing away from me now
    She was just a wish
    She was just a wish
And a memory is all that is left for you now
    You see your gypsy
    You see your gypsy

    Lightning strikes
    Maybe once maybe twice
And it all comes down to you

And it all comes down to you

    Lightning strikes
    Maybe once maybe twice
And it all comes down to you

    I still see your
    Your bright eyes
    Bright eyes
And it all comes down to you
I still see your bright eyes
    Bright eyes
And it all comes down to you

But I still see your bright eyes
    She was just a wish
    She was just a wish
And it all comes down to you
    Bright eyes..
    Lightning strikes
    Maybe once maybe twice
And it all comes down to you

My first contributions are from what many see as the greatest British movie ever made.

The excellent Get Carter from I971.
Now that was a very good year  , oh and apologies for the youtube title on that one

Roy Budd’s cool Get Carter Theme accompanying some of the best clips from the film.
