    people are thick.

I had a lovely rabbit when I was young, who lived in the house in winter and outside with a huge run in the summer.

I run around every bonfire night like a headless chicken trying to ensure the cats are in safely, I dont trust any of the littl runts around here not to attempt to hurt them.

we could do that to John, but I want a secret society first, it will make me feel important.

oh dont get me started on that. I think the law seriously needs changing… bonfire night should be official bonfires and fireworks only at organised events. The general public should not be able to buy them.

We have a huge event in the town park every year and up to this year it is always on 5 november…. now theyve gone and moved it to the sunday, which will only lead to folks still having their own events on 5 november… so it will be a whole fortnight of bangs and flashing lights.

Im not a killjoy, I love going to the bonfire and going on the fair, we meet up with friends every year, with our hipflasks of something to warm the coc.kles and have a great fun night.

I just hate them going off around residential areas what about the wildlife as well as pets?!

A closed pic forum would be a good idea. 8)

Whilst we are at it, cant we just close the whole thing from the public and be like a secret society?

We could take over the world and stuff like that.

    can we please?

went to a cockney night last night, it was brilliant, pie mash and licker (spl)… I politely refused jellied eels :x (spew), then headed off to a bar to watch a couple of bands, it was a great nite. We went to bed at 5 after I insisted we listen to Amy Winehouse before hitting the sack  up at 11, watched footy, sent the old man for a kip, watched corrie and cried my heart out

now me and the youngest are crashed on the sofa and Im waiting for my macaronie cheese and Simon Cowell… I plan a nice quiet evening of contentment 8)

its still summer as far as Im concerened and Im gonna stretch it out as long as possible.

Christmas shopping cannot occur until the open toed sandles have been slung to the back of the cupboard and replased with boots (that you have to get used to again cos youve not worn them in ages and they kill your feet!)

I know, and its the same with all pets. For a nation of supposed animal lovers, its quite shocking.

In an ideal world parrots would never have been imported by humans stuffed inside cardboard tubes so frightened that many died, we would not destroy their habitat, we would not kill them because some think they are pests, ignorant people wouldnt clip their wings taking away the only pleasure they have.

I do struggle sometimes with my conscience, but my pledge is to give my birds an environment as close to natural as possible, they are out more than they are in, and visitors have to be prepared to be dive-bombed and then kissed!

I help with arranging rescues up and down the country of birds brought on a whim, who when the owners get bored and maybe bitten dont want them anymore.

Some pluck themselves, some self mutilate. A lot of breeds should never be bred to be pets, and we campaign for this too.

Ive seen some stories that would bring the hardest-faced person to tears.

I try to educate and help people when they are looking for a pet bird, and encourage them to research as MUCH as possible before committing themselves to a pet which is expensive, very demanding, cant be left alone for long periods, requires special dietry needs, may never talk (the amount of people who buy parrots purely for that reason makes me very cross), may turn viscious, may possibly outlive their owner.

But in this topsy turvy world that we are hellbent on destroying I try and give them the bet I can, and will always strive to, and also to help others.

Pete, mynah birds dont make good pets, and I wouldnt recommend them to anybody looking for a pet.
