I agree Squeezy- if “life” meant just that over here then I would happily say we can forget the death penalty- the taking of a life or lives should mean that person never ever has the chance to be part of society again. In my opinion, liberal as it is!

You are also a man hater ( I know at least 4 women who are, and you’re a woman so you must be like them) who wouldn’t pi/ss on a man if he’s on fire.
See how utterly ridiculous those 2 statements are- you cannot apportion the actions of a mindless few to the majority- in anything, crime, football, race, etc-

Mancs loathe Scousers, Northerners think Southerners are soft, Geordies deride Mackems, middle class look down on working class (but look up to upper class cos they know their place). Scots mock the English who take the pish out of the Welsh n we all take the pi/sh out of the Irish.
It exists and has always existed and just because it is black and white now, or Hindu and Muslim, or Barbadian and Trinidadian, etc makes it no different- stop adding racial connotations to situations where they dont exist.
At least over there “life” means “life”, not 12 years like it can do here- I think in the long term the right decision was made. You sound like a sensible American woman (i said that in my least patronising voice ok! :lol: )
