No offence hun, I too find it funny when I look back at it- just like Benny Hill, On the Buses and It Ain’t Half Hot mum- they’re still have the ability to be funny in places but I couldn’t imagine them coming back now cos society has moved on.

In a way they remind me of the classic adverts of the 50’s, when you had the woman was seen as the cook, cleaner and who “did” for her husband, she needed the latest twin tub or the latest bottle of Daz- those adverts make me laugh so much but you would never ever want such a condescending type of advert around today- women have managed to move on from the subservient , junior and unequal role of only 50 years ago to being an equal part of todays society- well, almost equal :wink: :lol:

I would say my post was pretty conclusive and one sided but feel free to disagree-

Winter festivities instead of Xmas, not waving the flag etc is all boll/ox- but it is s/od all to do with minorities- it is to do with mainly white bureaucrats who THINK these things will upset a minority group within our country without actually asking them.

30 years ago using the words “nignog”, “sambo” and “jungle bunny” were considered “funny”, “inoffensive” and “just a laugh”- that was the opinion of the age. If you find you can’t say anything without being labelled a racist or homophobic, perhaps you should look at what you’re saying (conclusive enough for you!)- assimilation is a two way street- if you expect people to adapt to “our way of life”- try and meet them half way, and learn theirs too- we’ve just had a Polish shop open up not far from me, first in the whole city….and guess what, my world didnt end because of it.

Mosques harbouring Britain hating terrorists, Catholic churches harbouring Britain hating terrorists! No difference- different decade, different church, same hatred.

We could get into a deep economic debate about the EU- some of which I totally agree is ill spent money- however the idea that our trade deficit would not dive into a big red hole if we withdrew from the EU and all (and more) of our current EU investment would go on holding our economy afloat etc but here is not the place for an EU ecomomic debate

I am liberal and also against MASS immigration of any creed or culture into this country as it is now. This means we already have a wonderful mix of cultures, values, colours and beliefs however I belive we are also close to the full up sign. We are not a white country, deal with it, we are Great Britain and I am happy to sit at a table with anyone of any colour, creed or sex who calls themselves British.

Interestingly over 75% of British Muslims (if you must pigeonhole people) also belive that there should not be immigration on the scale it has been over the past 5 years-

As for accepting other cultures, go read a history book, we are the original mongrel nation, a hybrid mix of everyone and everything, we have always absorbed other cultures into ours and created a new brighter, stronger culture for it.

AND, as being british, they have a right to an opinion, a view, an aim to make OUR society better. So if my local mosque wants to complain about pornography in WHS because it offends them- THEY HAVE THE RIGHT TO DO THAT- THEY’RE BRITISH. They have as much right to do that as anyone else does- they ain’t white british, black british, muslim british, etc etc – they’re just british, end of.

And yes Drivel, we have a huge Eastern European crime problem at the moment (which ALL Londoners especially) are concerned about- see ALL Londonders, black, white, muslim, jew, chinese, catholic, etc etc- caused by opening up the borders a couple of years ago. But as I said, understand ALL Britons are concerned about crime, education, health, welfare, taxes, the environment etc not just white Britons.

Interestingly most of the Mediterranean during the summer months has a huge crime problem caused by BRITISH (mostly white) tourists who think a good holiday is getting p/issed, vomiting and sh/itting in the street,abusing the local population, fighting anything that moves AND they don’t speak a word of Spanish- what makes you think it’s only “foreigners” who act like f/uckwits when abroad- we do a good enough job ourselves- one of the greatest shames on our nation in my view-

Jobs should always go to the best candidate, no matter what- however the only reason we have FEMALE representation in parliament to the extent we have, is because of quotas- TADpole, you really belive men are capable of representing the views of every woman in the country? Quotas were introduced to get women into parliament- if it works for sex, why wouldn’t it work for colour.

Our “culture” is made up of it’s component parts- always has been- if you mean you don’t like our “white” culture being at risk- I certainly don’t feel anything is at risk- I’m male, white, thirty something, fly the Flag, follow England, play football and cricket in the street, take the kids to the park, have a chinese on a saturday night, roast on Sunday, – what is it that we’re losing- maybe it’s a perception rather than reality cos where I see it, we haven’t lost any of our culture, just gained and grown a wider, diverse culture.
