27 December, 2007 at 11:09 pm #296738What does the queen do for the UK?
9.5 billion pound tourist trade? 57% of tourist citing the monarchy as the reason they came to visit the UK? The 4 countries of the UK tied together by a monarchy? She is also the head of our NATIONAL church (get rid of her Emma n the nasty Muslims may take advantage of the vacuum- them or the Catholics!)- we get rid of the monarchy, we also remove our state religion- for the MAJORITY of people it signifies a bond, a loyalty- our armed forces swear an oath to the crown, not to some republican senator! It presents to most a continuity in an ever increasingly uncertain world- either way, it can be summed up by
“The head-of-state arrangements that a country has do not lend themselves to fruitful discussion. They are bequeathed by history, not by reason; they emerge from cataclysm not from debate. For better or worse….Britain has a monarchy. Unless the House of Windsor chooses to dismiss itself, the monarchy will remain”
24 December, 2007 at 2:32 pm #233126Depends on lots of things really
How much of the team can be kept together post season? I doubt Miller will stay but he hasnt really shone (tho the quality or lack of it around him may account for that) but if we can keep a nucleus together- who knows- I will guarrantee Jewson is looking at next season already (this season is a write off) and building his championship team
In all seriousness, I don’t know how their confidence will be- look at Watford this season and they’ve bounced back, playing well and may be promoted again- but for what? Unless they invest £20-25 million on players, they’re going to repeat last season.
As long as we dont fall like Leeds, Sheffield Wednesday and Forest then I’ll stay happy
21 December, 2007 at 7:44 pm #233124We aint going anywhere except down
Obvious from last season- we bought very little (in terms of quality) and expected to stay up on our “passion”- nah, everyone who I’ve spoke to is looking forward to next season n winning again
It aint the end of the world…not if you see it coming

The rabid ramblings of someone’s reaction to a BBC news item- you’d think the world had ended
Ah, the world around you crumbles like a great big hob n/ob biscuit whilst the hot tea of life soaks your custard cream

if you read the bnp manifesto it says people who want to take VOLUNTARY repatriation they will be supported with grants both for they, and their family members. but to the country of repatriation also will be given grants to help their communities accepting repatriation. it doesnt say anywhere that repatriation would be forced.
the government at the moment is paying foreign people to return home with grants of £4.000 which, while seeming costly actually saves us, the tax payer money. so is the labour government racist as well ?
also the lib dems have drafted a similar alternative to repatriate immigrants who fail their applications for assylum. are thet racist too ?Wasp- don’t you think there’s a difference between someone who arrived from Somalia last week and someone who is as British as you or me but happens to have had his great grandparents born in Jamaica but had his granparents and parents born in this country and are British- after all how many people here have Irish ancestry
The issue though is the fact that the BNP even has as its policy the VOLUNTARY repatriation of anyone who is British PURELY on the colour of their skin- it does not state it will voluntarily repatriate children who were born to American GI fathers (providing of course they are white) nor 3rd or 4th generation Rhodeisans, Australians, Kiwis, Canadians, White South Africans or ANY white european nationality- ONLY non white non european britons- THATS WHY ITS DEEMED RACIST- VOLUNTARY OR OTHERWISE
It is a direct insult to every non white Briton who deems this country to be the best in the world and are proud to be British
18 December, 2007 at 5:58 pm #295571As soon as he wins something, everyone will forget he’s foreign and harp on about what a good choice he was.
I dont remember hearing many complaints in 2005 about the England cricket winning the Ashes with a Zimbabwean manager :D
Capello has a quality and a “don’t feck with me” style (or is that “donna fecka widda me”)- he will sort out the prima donnas with no pride in their hearts
Erikkson was still Englands most successful manager since Alf Ramsey
17 December, 2007 at 7:32 pm #295461Its the new and improved BNP website thats confused her (and more likely everyone else)..I can’d find anything on the website now and they’ve hidden a lot of the contentious stuff away in dark corners
Still, at least we have Emma to amuse us with her own view on life
