The fact that he has served in iraq has nothing to do with the topic

He has had a poor level of care but certainly not uncommon. Scandalous- it has been and remains so. Disgraceful..absolutely, it has been disgraceful for some years now

His parents experiences ae indicative of many peoples experiences, especially when elderly parents are admitted into hospital.

Funny how this story has come to light a week after the Americans brought up a similar story…did his parents not think it was “appalling” 3 months ago?

    Nooo

Does all comic relief money go to Africa? Well I never did!

Oh, n what is that event on BBC every November which raises money solely for British children- the thing with Pudsey bear n El Tel?

Perhaps one event for the UK and one for the rest of the world each year seems fair Emma?

One event for 5 million British kids n one event for 500 million kids around the world- I think I can see where the unfairness is, can’t you

slayer has indeed explained something, but i dont understand it, thats why im asking him, which seems to be a criminal offence these days.

Is slayer agreeing with the organisers that the English should appologise for slavery in 2007? A simple yes or no will do.

Learn from the past, dont repeat the mistakes of the past, acknowledge the acts of the past as wrong but DON’T apologise for something which occurred 200 years ago- it wasn’t your fault

Do not repeat the sins of the fathers onto their sons for they shall reap vengeance

Emma- I disagreed with your view of what was behind this march NOT with the view that we should not be apologising. We SHOULD be discussing it, we SHOULD be remembering it, we SHOULD be recognsing slavery as an evil act of human subjugation, but we SHOULD NOT be apologising for something which occurred almost 200 years ago.

That if you move to a white protestant nation then you have to (regardless of your beliefs ) abide by the laws of that country.

We’re not a white protestant nation- we’re a protestant nation, just so in case you hadnt noticed

There are thousands of muslims. sikhs, other immigrants who come here to make a better life for themselves…bloody hell most of our doctors are indian for christs sake !!!

There are thousands of British Muslims, Sikhs etc- indeed many of them are Dr’s are n it’s a feckin good job too cos sure as eggs is eggs there aint enough whitey dr’s to go round. Funny how in makin a better life for themselves, you n me have benefitted immensely or doesnt that count?

If you ‘put into the kitty’ then you have a right to take out…sadly in the last decade most of the immigrants are taking and ‘Good Old Blighty’ hands it over with a smile on her face and a look of total cowardice in her eyes…can i walk around the cities of Jordan, Afghanistan ect; with a bikini top, mimi skirt on and high heels ?? Never gonna happen !! They’d bloody stone me !! As for building a nice proddy / catholic church in the middle of New Delhi ??? ( these are only examples)

You absolutely right, after all- anyone can build a protestant church in the Falls Road of Belfast can’t they? You need to to distinguish between British Indians etc who have made a massive contribution to keeping this country afloat over the last 50 years and the mass immigration from Eastern Europe over the last 4-5 years- big difference

Yet England lets every religion have the right to worship their fath regardless of who they are and regardless of the nature of their ‘so called sermons’ take… the bloody hook bloke !! amazes me what a country of wussies and do gooders we’ve turned into…….. yet i see very little been done for the good of us…do you ?????

Thats what makes us so great- we arent a bunch of narrow minded, short sighted, closed little englanders- we’re British.

Oh n yes, in ref to your earlier point- Google Spain n immigration- they take more than the UK each year! funny that innit :D

To suggest we continue to pay penance for sins committed 200 years ago is no more ridiculous that suggesting Germany should still be saying sorry for the tens of millions who died in WW2 in the year 2145

Learn from the past, dont repeat the mistakes of the past, acknowledge the acts of the past as wrong but DON’T apologise for something which occurred 200 years ago- it wasn’t your fault

You are agreeing with me…”The month-long Lifeline Expedition from Hull to London has been organised to apologise for the slavery“.

Aha, perhaps I should have been a little more specific in what I disagreed with- the driving force behind this campaign to say sorry, to my mind anyway, is not about “the marxists who run our country” and the poor down trodden english etc.

Poor misguided folk, keen on religion, who fancy a bit of penance and may indeed feel guilty (the sort who feel sinful for eating a cadbury’s cream egg cos they have to stick their tongue in) are the ones who are leading this but I believe it is counter productive and creates disharmony.

    I am getting old!

I to understood the march to be as Lil F described.
