Most people’s attitudes and preconceptions are influenced by the environment they live or have been brought up in. To try and break that cycle would be an achievement indeed. But that requires willingness, commitment, and, most of all, an open mind. I live in a prominently white area, where most of the crimes are committed by white young males. I have two white young males of my own, neither of whom are criminals, although a few of their school chums have fallen by the wayside over the years.
I pride myself in having taught them what it means to be a valued and respected member of their community. Despite peer pressure, they have never given me a moment to feel ashamed or guilty. They are also very apt at sussing people out, regardless of the creed/colour/conviction.
I guess what I am trying to say is … We reap what we sow. Someone has to take stock at some point, and stop the vicious cycle. Humanity is what matters, not politics, religions, colours … etc.
Totally agree.
My sons best friend is jamacian, and is moving back there in a few weeks and my son is devastated. My kids arent racist as i done condone it.

If they are asylum seekers then it would explain why they don’t work. The government doesn’t allow them to!!! That might explain any grant to buy furniture but I’ve never heard of people given a grant to buy a car. So maybe the people with cars aren’t asylum seekers.
I would take your story more seriously if you actually had concrete details but all I’m hearing is hearsay. So while there might be elements of truth in your story, it sounds mostly like gossip and rumour.
Im sorry but what she has said is true. How can she record evidence for a forum? Why dont you come and see for yourself, move in for a week and i guarantee your attitude will change. But lets face it you cant really do that, its silly but not as silly as you expecting Becky to post proof.

OK not far from where i live there is a high rise block dedicated to Immigrants. If your experience had been at the hands of 8 white youths in hoodies- would that have meant all white youths in hoodies were at fault.
That’s the problem I have with the situation- blaming immigrants per se for the actions of a mindless few is like blaming every football fan in the country for the actions of a few hooligan thugs- i can’t relate to that.
For me, it is a crime and justice problem rather than an immigration one- everyone is subject to our laws- break the law, serve your sentence if convicted.
No im not so keen on hoodies either whatever colour they are as from experience they hang around scaring the old women round the shops and at night time even worse. All what i comment on is PERSONAL experience OK each person is different i dont see what you see and i wont just to please anyone. It seems to me if you dont agree on JC boards with the “ones who think they know it all” you gat called names. It is clear your personal experiences of immirgants living here is different to mine- I have not, nor would I, seek to play down or undermine your experience.
We’ll always disagree on the cause even if we agree on the outcome
At least you are decent Slayer and allow me to have my own opinion without calling me a bigot, but as you say yes my experiences are bad so im yet to experience the good. I would like to be proven wrong i really would.
Becky, I would just like to say that I don’t think that you and Tadpole are racist, I think you call it as you see it. I think some people may have been quick to judge you. I’ve read through alot of your posts to try and see where you are coming from, and I can understand in the area you live there are alot of immigrants and your experience of them has not been positive. I also read Becky that you have not voted for the BNP, which I think is fantastic, it would have been easy for you to vote for them had you been the bigot that you had been labelled, but you obviously see the bigger picutre.
