gerrard is a cert as always, had a bad world cip only scored 2 goals in 5 games and thats not enough for a midfielder is it
i think andy johnstone will do well for the toffees alongside james beattie i think theyl play well together
anelka at pompey!! watch out for that itl be hilarious especially the manchester city games
Gerrard is a good honest player – no more – he’s hardly world class I think we have only 2 players near to world class – thats Rooney and Ferdinand – if he stopped trying to look like Bob marley and concentrated on his game
Two man Utd players that hardly shined this World cup …. too much hype surrounds Rooney, he’s shown he’s been less than average this world cup and in the run up to it too… “Nearly World Class?”… Not in my book.
Gerrard, Hargreaves and Joe Cole were Englands best players this time round.
ffs he had a broken foot in the run up to the World Cup – how can he shine on crutches !! – he still has more than any other home grown player
I agree with hargreaves – hot a popular choice of player – but he had a good world cup
Gerrard – apart from 1 goal was non existent and Joe Cole drifts in and out games
All in all – the 2 finalists were nothing special either – just happens we were less special !!!
Two goals for Gerrard, he was Englands top scorer against Trin & tobago & Sweden. That’s not really what I call Non-existant.
ffs I could score against trinidad and Tobago !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Apart from Crouch, no one else on the England team could ! Shaka Hislop must have been sick of the sight of Gerrard

Against, definately. No excuse nor reason. If Foxes need controlling, then it’s better done by professionals than toffs in fancy dress poncing about the countryside.
Not sure about that view how more professional can you get, than people who have done the job for life, people tend to say there are alternatives to pest control in the wild but nobody ever states the alternatives, seems that you too are more against the people who you percieve to go hunting rather than hunting the fox?
Not at all.
I don’t regard them as professionals because the whole hunt thing is more of an occasion than an occupation. having witnessed hunts before and watching the whole farce, it is hard to see this as a twenty first century cure to Fox problems and more like a Victorian day out.
A 10 year Oxford University study found that only half of the Hunt Masters questioned mentioned fox control as any justification for their ‘sport’. 82% claimed that the hunt’s main role was as ‘a recreational and social force embodying a traditional rural pastime’.
I find it difficult to justify Fox hunting as a method of “pest control” when the Huntsmasters themselves see it as a “jolly romp”.
The whole point of hunting is that the ‘chase’ lasts as long as possible. This is why the hounds are bred for stamina, not speed. There have also been numerous cases where hunts have provided artificial earth’s to encourage foxes to breed to provide ‘sport’. Recently the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) secretly filmed an employee of the Beaufort Hunt feeding fox cubs. (The Observer, 11/6/00)
Just a couple of reasons why I oppose fox hunting.. As for your comment about professionals… I understand members of both Parliment and the Royal family take part with hunts up and down the country. How would you like to justify their role in the hunt?
