Er….. well I did get a bit out of breath once when watching Julie Christie in Dr Zhivago, way back in the mid 1960’s.
Oh and my heart pounded quite heavily once when a sniper missed me by a couple of inches……
…. and when England beat the Aussies in the World Cup in the last few seconds of the game……….
….. and my knees went all trembly after one of the kitchen maids at school satisfied my more basic instincts in a broom cupboard …..
…….. but apart from that – no.
Sorry about that.
Then you have my deepest sympathy for missing out on one of lifes pleasures, but you don’t miss what you’ve never had
26 January, 2010 at 11:27 am #429616oh alright then… but some might disagree.. I suppose it depends on what some interpret as love and what others would say was lust or infatuation… sadly there is no indicator that flashes to descriminate between the two

“Romance” is all about ‘process’. Men don’t do process. We just get on with the job in hand and then get back to doing more interesting or important things.
So PB, you have never had a heart pounding, knee trembling, take your breath away moment whilst not on the job ????
26 January, 2010 at 11:18 am #429531Miserable tight gits the lot of you….. I’m not suggesting you lavish your women with expensive gifts….. sometimes its the small things that mean so much more…
( and please no small jokes i was not referring to the size of anyones dongler)

Mr Velvet is of the opinion that it is all a commercial ripoff so lucky old me gets sweet nothing every year… this goes for easter anniversarys and xmas too… he’s such a giving soul and im lucky if i get a birthday card
…..and he’s 100% absolutely right!!! Valentine’s Day is a total commercial ripoff solely designed to make women feel good about themselves and feel wanted.
Men are in essence blackmailed into splurging out on stupid gifts at inflated prices with the threat of “You don’t really love me any more” if they choose to be frugal. This is of course before the ‘refusal to copulate’ card is played.
So, in their untiring search for ever more fornication, men are ripped off vast amounts of hard-earned cash and all in the name of St Valentine.
Is seriously concerned that PB may be Mr Velvet in disguise

No you cant be in love with two people and anyone says you can is using it as an excuse
I love both my children Pete so ner ner
(I do however assume we’re not talking about that kind of love)
I disagree… you can love someone but not be in love with them nor like them very much, and you can be in love with someone but not like them either… its called torn between 2 lovers…. i suppose it comes down to the kind of love i guess, the long term deep feelings you have for someone that has shared much of your life and experiences with you, the one who knows what you are thinking without asking and a lover that makes you feel alive, makes your heart pound, lights up your day and takes your breath away

26 January, 2010 at 9:53 am #429576Personally for me NCB the answer is NO. I can move on, be civil, even appear friendly but its always there in the back of my mind. I sometimes wish I could be more forgiving and give people a second chance but I seem to have become less inclined to do so with age.
