1 October, 2009 at 4:55 pm #411466I love the way my son Tyler (4) tells me straight, and if he thinks he’s right, then he’ll tell me..
Few months back, putting some pants on him, and i said, oh, these are the ones Mummy and Daddy bought you a while back. “No, my Nanny bought them” I said, “I’m sure Mummy and Daddy got these ones”.. On top of his voice.. “NO, MY NANNY BOUGHT THEM FOR ME”....
He was 2 going on 3, when i went to pick him up at the station, and he just said: “Daddy, you need a haircut”.. Then, i tried all ways to get him to eat breakfast, he wouldn’t, but in my sisters car, taking him home, he said: “Daddy, i’m hungry, and you haven’t fed me”..
The worst part was, was when breaking up, with his mum, and even though it has to be done, you really do feel for the kids.. He sat on a Bench with me, and i explained to him, that I had to take him back, and that i had to go, and he said he wanted to go home and get his bag.. When I asked him why, he said it was because he wanted to go with me. :(
There’s things he’s said and done I smile/laugh about.. He’s quite sharp for his age!
Then there’s my daughter (2).. I try and do silly things, just to make them laugh, (Like dance to the Big Cook, Little Cook Song), but she just kind of looks as if to say: “What’s this Idiot doing?”.. And the way she frowns, just makes me want to hug her so much!!
They were both sat at the table, (I was rushing around collecting things to pack, etc) and my daughter went to take his coat, (as it was on top of the table) he tried grabbing it back,.. this went on for a few minutes, before Tyler whinged.. I said, “look, it’s just a stupid jacket”.. Tyler said, “No Daddy,.. It’s not a stupid jacket, it’s MY jacket”..
He’s at that WHY stage too.. Asks a question,.. Then “WHY?”.. Answer him, and it’s,.. “But Why?”.. Why isn’t the train going: “WoooWooo, chukka chukka”..
I have to say, when they’re with me, they’re well behaved.. They make me laugh/Smile.. They’re loving.. And I am so so proud of them! :)
