    I disagree. To quote from the Balfour declaration:
    “His Majesty’s Government view with favour the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people, and will use their best endeavours to facilitate the achievement of this object.”

    That advocates a recarving of the region in my opinion. To “facilitate”, to make possible by adjusting, to re shuffle, re organise, the “establishment” of a new “nation” is re-carving the land. There is a clear association between recarving  / Middle east / Balfour Declaration. The proof was in the pudding. Palestine was later carved up into many new countries. Which brings us back to the new and current carve up you and Ge refer to. I still can’t see it. A 2nd division shift of influence in one or two minor countries in the region does not constitute a recarving of the middle east.

    I showed they did, Historically and modern times. Iran have been in Lebanon with Hezbollah for over 30 years, have big influence in Bahrain. Iranian influence in the middle east is nothing new.

    One could argue Iran IS in the middle east. If it isn’t in it, it borders it. If it IS in the middle east then its the largest? one of the largest countries, most sophisticated, and home to Shia Islam. How can it not have an influence in its own region. That’s like saying Britain, France or Germany have no influence in Europe.

    Oh scep. Not only my father, but friends, vets so forth. I agree about Vietnam war one hundred percent. I work with those who still have PTSD disorder from it, discuss what done both sides. Awful. Some can not even say openly..express what people don’t know. Some vets children born with agent Orange disorders from their father’s exposure. I know.

    I said we not perfect.. but regardless how u and me dance on this thread, and we more adult on these matters, yes, I am American. Proud of it..not happy always with our leadership, but who is anywhere..

    I genuinely don’t recognise any resemblance between the oddly vague points made by Mr Bollox above and the arguments I put forward about Iran, the Balfour Declaration, and the Middle East.

    Is Mr Bollox giving a deliberately muddled answer, ignoring every point I’ve made in the hope that he’ll wing it unchallenged??

    Or could it possibly be I am wrong about him being a charlatan, and that his mind is genuinely muddled?

    Perhaps I’ve done him a great disservice in assuming the intelligence and discrimination which a true charlatan employs in the service of his ego.

    Perhaps he is genuinely muddled, and genuinely assumes that he is the clearest one here.

    You make many points. You are welcome to your views. I’m welcome to mine. I’ve seen your views, and am unimpressed. I have no need to challenge them. If something grabs me, I may respond. I have noticed you don’t pick up many of my many points either. If you shall be rude to me and disrespectful then don’t be a hypocrite and expect me to sing to your tune.

    As I have seen you say on another thread, “I’m not here to answer your questions and sing to your tune” or words to that effect. You can not expect others to sing to your tune if that’s your attitude x

    I shall in true scep style read between the lines. This is scep grumbling and bitching because I’m not paying him enough attention, or addressing any of his points.

    I refuse to debate the middle east with anyone who thinks that Iran is only just acquiring some influence in the region or that the Balfour Declaration has anything to do with recarving. So,

    I will take the liberty of re-writing the Balfour Declaration, just for scep as he feels neglected, and needs my attention and writings to read. He also likes to read between the lines. We can all do that.

    The King advocates that Palestine be recarved and facilitates a new nation. The King advocates making a territory into a state, borders will be adjusted where necessary to create and facilitate this new state for the Jewish people. Maybe more than one state will be created. We’ll see. Just a wild guess, the Jewish people will name this new nation being recarved from Palestine, Israel. In order for Palestine to facilitate this establishment of Israel, new borders will have to be drafted, new countries could be founded from the remainder of Palestine that doesn’t become Israel. New maps will have to be made. Palestine will be carved up.

    No matter what way you interpret it. The Balfour agreement has nothing to do with recarving. I admit scep, you were right, I am wrong. I am just a charlatan best ignored x
