Lots of us have had a pair or 10 of Doc Martens in our life so what colour boots did you have and what colour laces did you put in them?I always had black Docs and at school had white laces in them but after leaving i put only put red or yellow in them.Today i have just ordered a pair of cherry red Docs and got me thinking of laces.So its over to you
My Doc shoes were my pride and joy because my old man had up to then refused to let me have a pair, associating them with skinheads and thuggery, I bought them myself with saving from a paper round. When I bounced down the road, jeans up to the ankles, with white socks and a Fred Perry, I thought I was the beez kneez and a man at last, aged about 14.
When he was stationed in Hong Kong he even bought some plastic fake ones and expected me to wear them, but that’s another tale for another day.
Never owned a pair and don’t want to….my brothers however did….obsessed they were….always cleaning them
Somer not sure but maybe yellow or navy?……I’m guessing you wear jeans so go navy
Mine were burgundy , standard Dr Martens colours , polished until I could see my face in em lol.

Never polished mine,cleaned and then used dubbin on them and left to sink in over night
always got 2 things me pair of docs and a Seiko watch
my docs I have now are black and steel toe capped
but as a kid they were cherry red,and I had a crombie
my mate and I kid you not this was at school dyed his docs gold
and hs nickname was goldi docs.
Got a pair last Christmas black with floral interiors with black ribbon laces ( as well as a spare standard DM lace Absolutely love them, but unfortunately they slice my heels every time I wear them so have only worn them a few times …. Anyone got a good idea how to break them in? Cut free?

I still wear mine on very rare occasions, was a Goth when they were new they have 16 holes, black and black laces originally, i used dubbin on mine to waterproof and soften the leather as my parents are horsey and dubbin was always there, they are 16 years old now, maybe time to e bay them,bet they make as much as i originally paid.

yes lney I had same problem try wearing 2/3 pairsof them thick argyle socks
till you break them in
