Don’t encourage me. Seriously though, how the Northern Mill Town grooming gangs managed to get away with it for so long is being quietly swept under the table, sexual misconduct by male MPs is being quietly swept under the table, including from the Saville era. The evidence that many thousands of men are paying for and watching the worst child porn possible is slowly being swept under the table, etc etc etc and in my opinion, when a few tragic cases of “revenge porn” are highlighted constantly, it is a red herring by the establishment, a “moral panic”, disguising the bigger picture as to just how prevalent paedophilia really is and the LIES about the funding required to seriously tackle it.

If encouraging your 15 year old to have a “few” Vodkas is acceptable, then it must be equally acceptable to encourage them to have a “few” hits of something less harmful like Heroin, Crack or tobacco. Cannabis is as we see much less harmful than vodka.

I have no intention of encouraging any youths (or adults) to do any of the above.

Not all youths live in nice areas. Many youths have only the above. Well adjusted 15 year olds can be trusted behind closed doors in my house.

I think this a crucial distinction, but Ms K’s formulation of it betrays the problem, as well.

Whatever age is made the legal age of consent – 16, 14 or 18 – seems to be arbitrary. There’s no actual reason why one rather than the other should be given.

That’s shown by the constant resort to emotivism when writing of your feelings towards the matter. You wouldn’t like it to be younger; or you remember when you were 14 and were vulnerable but still disobeyed mum’s warning (please note, neither the legal age of consent nor parental warnings are going to deter a lot of wilful 14 year olds like the young Jamie); you would beat someone’s brains out with a brickbat if they tried it on with a daughter of yours, or the horrifying example of a wrinkled and dried up 60 year old banging away at a virginal cherub to justify the death penalty or murder, or the dark accusation that anyone who doubts the arbitrary age chosen must be a disgusting character next thing to a pedo..

I have no idea at what age the legal consent should start because I have no idea of when vulnerability (and many up to their early 20s are vulnerable) is counter-balanced by maturity. In Germany, it’s apparently 14. Why did they choose this age – seriously? I’d be concerned about the debates for and against both in parliament and the social/legal professions when the age of 14 was chosen. Why 16?

Pure emotivism isn’t enough to justify anything. Otherwise I would be introducing an age like 40, with harsh penalties for all who prey on those under 40’s, and equally harsh penalties for those under-40s who are filthy enough to try it on with anybody.. My emotivism is as good as yours.

Personally, I don’t see how a girl of 14, 16 or 18 would find a man above 40 attractive – I don’t find them attractive at all, but many do. The penalties against them tend to be social rather than legal – people don’t like it, and aren’t slow to make their feelings felt, often with violence. But that is the moral age of consent, rather than legal. The former is always dictated by emotivism.
