Every sunday us kids would wake up to Patsy cline playing. My mother would whack up the volume on her old steepletone record player while the house would be scrubbed top to bottom! with the sunday dinner on the go.
I would have given much to hear Cathy Berberian sing Black is the Colour of My True Love’s hair, one of the folk songs adapted by her husband, Luciano Berio, in 1964.
It’s the first song on this video, and I find it very moving.
Always thought it was sad that Jim Croce was killed so young, he wrote some lovely songs…

only 23 when he died in a aeroplane crash but wow check out his catalogue this guy was prolific he could easy be lennon mccartney esque
rave on and every day still gives me tingles on my spine
oh and a passing nod to ricky nelson i play hello mary lou on my guitar every xmas my family say oh ffs dad,uncle,bro etc not again they luv it really tho
