I wonder is anyone here getting infected emails from a person called Alan Higgins? his email address is [email protected]. I am getting as many as five or six emails a day from him…. I have no idea who it is … obviously I just delete them, but its a bit disconcerting being targeted by whoever it is.

The reason I am asking people here is I have a dedicated email just for JC and I have shared it with very few people so I wondered if others here had a similar problem?

If you put them into “junk” rather than deleting them, it’ll block any further emails from that address.

It could be someone who doesn’t even know that there account has been taken over by spammers. It’s easy for your email address to get circulated on a joke email that someone sends to many recipients, but doesn’t do it as a blind copy, so the entire list of email addresses can be seen by all the recipients. Not saying that either of these is true in your case but they are possibilities rather than seeing yourself as being targeted by an individual that you know.

Never make any attempt to reply . If it was me I would ditch the account and start again . You don’t say if its a hotmail account that you have , but if it is then you can permanently block mail from an address by going into the options for mail and selecting the safe and blocked senders list . As the mail you are receiving is coming from the same address every time then add the address to the blocked senders list. Might be worth a try before abandoning ship . Good luck

I have my anti virus etc scheduled to run scans each week. My email is also checked and I’m warned if it contains anything nasty. I also make sure my security is automatically updated.

    Simple but effective.

I put them into junk and also marked them as spam terry…… they arrive in my junk arrivals but I feel uneasy leaving them on my system so I delete them from junk… dont know if thats the right thing to do or not….. since posting here earlier I received 3 more

As long as I dont open them its OK… just take heed if anyone gets one from Alan Higgins dont open it
