Do not think ever monopoly game will disappear especially since made more versions for it.
Last Christmas, got one new version. Did you ever See, Nightmare before Christmas? Tim Burton’s movie in which Jack a Skelton for Halloween town, decides to be Santa at Christmas, and kidnaps Santa…So cool the game board pieces.

My parents never played games with us. How nice for you and your siblings..

Just once with Dad. We were playing poker. Think argument over how hand of flush cards to be. Dad looked at brother’s cards, adjusted. Mine, winked, said sister won, turned down cards, for us both. Walked away…till this day, still don’t know how he set up cards…never showed my brother, and brother never challenged.
    Hee hee.. thanks for sharing..

Or how about back then “dam” and “hell” considered bad words. Mum would say “going to wash your mouth out with soap.”

Ohhhhh. Made brownies over July 4th. GREAT.. super moist, better than mine ever. You have recipe for scones so they are not too dry????? Put up under your recipe guide. Mine either cook too hard, or not taste sweet! Cake one wanted to try. Can not recipe right now. But some ingredients do not have or think can find here. Maybe a milk product, think..was going to see if could use goat milk. Expensive but can get it here. Super thanks. Xx

My mum always told us  if you eat your greens you will grow up to be big and strong. She also told us to be tolerant and nice  :-)   :-)

    Suzanne43-
Forgot that one..Love it though…Ours more the term, “Respect your Elders, you know what’s going to happen….”

“Eat everything on your plate,” even though mum knew you hated Lima beans, included them anyways..and then say, “those also, or you go to bed without any supper, or dessert…” Hee…
Sad though, lost my last parent not long ago. 62 years married they were.. too close together deaths. miss them both so much…funny still use some expressions, use on my own,
“Don’t like the rules, there’s the door, mine says see ya later, and then may not come back few days.” Then, we were scared, where to go. Today those expressions tossed out the door.. except mine still remembers to respect elders, thank god…..

You know thinking too, never recall any Dad’s or mine using expressions then or now.. do you? Think mum’s rule over on this one…heeeeeeeeeeee..

I remember a game called Masterpiece, I loved that game.  Also Ludo.  I played Ludo with my kids when they were small and never forget my daughters piece being sent back home and her losing her rag and flipping the board off the table lol she was only 4 or 5 and was not happy lol  she was so cute we laughed and she said ‘stop laughing at me’.

    Mizzy

Interesting name for games… not aware of Masterpiece or Ludo. Hee
    Do like Ludo. Sounds unique.

Me too younger years having fun with them, ahhhh….. start losing, not happy, temper flares, and suddenly bored, do not want to play with you anymore……ha ha.

For some reason never liked jigsaw puzzles piecing together. Boring, made me fall asleep. BUT the best as they always beat me.. they thought…Made them feel real good… turning away smiled and said now they are happy!!!!!!!

Ludo was a great game….had the pop-omatic version where you press the dice counter in the middle and it ‘popped’ shaking the dice. Also had the game Sorry which was another version of Ludo. Basically, you have 4 pieces that you need to get round the board and home and if you land on any one else’s piece they get sent back to the start. Originated in India. There was another game called Frustration which may have bee n the same game under another name.
