hi 2 things 1,i know i dont contribute much to the boards with my inane babblings,so i thought i would give something back to the boards

2,im an expert at plants there is nothing i dont know about them,anyway in april im taking my plant stalls back off my sons,they are getting a bit lack lustre and shoddy,i tlove them but i think they are getting a bit bored tbh

so all im saying is if you have any questions about plants.like i dunno are these perennial,do these need dead heading,which soil do rhododendrons prefer etc

just ask me im happy to help for free.

One of my neighbors gave me a pot thing with a big bulb thing with some soil…..I was horrified to what to do with it……asked my friend who likes gardening to start it off for me but she said do it yourself it’s easy!!

anyway blah blah it grew and flowered……so I told my neighbour the orchids have bloomed and are lovely….to which she replied…..it’s not an orchid plant it’s a (can’t remember what she said it was)….I’ll try post a picture of it

Kenty, from your description its sounds like you’ve grown a Amaryllis. Before it flowered was it a long stem with a head on the top? Ugly looking thing until it flowers.  Most common are the red headed ones.

Yes it was but the flowers were white

anyway the stems grow so long I got fed up of it and binned it last week lol

I have a magnificent  22 year old Araucaria araucana tree. Would you know how to tell ifs male or female? Last year for the first time it actually fruited and produced four large  nuts!!
