I saw the last 20 minutes of a movie with Liam Neeson called Non Stop on the telly last night.

I couldn’t help laughing at the ludicrous and uninteresting storyline and antics, as Tough caring liam plays an Air marshall who is maligned as a traitor for hijacking a plane.

But aww he’s a good guy really who looks after ickle children and vulnerable women and confronts two carboard cutout villains in hi jinx in the air. It ends with bullets flying through the plane, Liam holding on to the ickle girl as she nearly flies out of the plane, the villains blown away, and the obligatory bomb blowing the tail off the plane.all killed and deaded, the obligatory bomb blowing the tail of the plane away  but  no worries as the pilot safely lands the plane at umpteen hundred miles per hour as it breaks apart. All passengers are saved.

I kept thinking of that comic movie Airplane, I do think the film was a copy of Airplane, but taken seriously in the hope that the audience were morons. Liam emerges smiling as the hero and walks off laughing to the bank.

Really. If Tom Hanks makes reassuring films about conformists running across America because he is himself a conformist, Liam Neeson strikes me as a man who has realised that there is an awful lot of dosh to be made in films for adolescents.

    Scep..

U too too funny. Glad u took time out to watch. I watched the original funny airplane. Can not recall actors names off hand. Grey hair pilot, with blow up co pilot. Funny funny.

But think I saw this movie u watched as well. One bullet, 2 hitting windows would of made air mask pop out. Did not. And I thought 6 bullets in a 45. Think shot out 10. Heeeeeeeeeee.

But thank u for your observant watching and point of review.

    Xx

    Linda,

I dislike a lot of films most people like.

Does that make me a cultural snob? I really hope not.

But if anyone wants to take the mickey out of my favourite movies or stars, just go ahead. I won’t get offended.

    No scep…….

    Makes u different. XXxX

Let me think who I can compare Hanks with a moment, and one of yours maybe. Roy Rogers. ?
Mello singer, horse lover, funny, gentle, kind. Hanks has played many roles in which he not portrayed those prior stated before of martial and action….

But friend, each to own. I challenge no one on particular interest. Makes all of us more interesting to learn each other, not boring. Right?

    Haa….

    Long live Bruce Willis! LMAO

Now St Bruce Willis actually appeared in some enjoyable films.

Die Hard is so hokey it’s good.

The rest of the Die Hards were evidence of something which shouldn’t have refused to die hard.

The Sixth Sense was also good.

Now were talking classic Bruce Sceptical Guy!….Sixth Sense was an amazing and interesting film..for many reasons. The plot was so absorbing in this film and the characters so good that it took one’s focus away from the main event which was that Bruce was actually dead.

But then, the clue was there…the great little actor guy says : ” I see dead people” and that should have made me realize at the time that this guy only sees dead people so Bruce must obviously be dead. LOL…my bad….

This particular theme and twist was used a few times…most notably to me in the film with Nicole who ya trying to kid man? LOl The film was called : The Others, and this woman is trapped in a house with her 2 kids and you eventually realize that they are all ghosts. I did work this out though as the Sixth Sense was still fresh in my mind at the time.

Die Hard was a classic that reinvigorated the Action film genre. It added tension to a genre which rather relied on punching, kicking and explosions as it’s main criteria.

In fact, i would say that if it wasn’t for the legend action hero’s of the eighties…..a lot of the nineties films may never have been so well thought out as they were.

I got a lot more to say on this matter so stay tuned…LOL

I did digress some what with this post so back to Tom Hanks……Now there was this film called Catch Me If You Can…starring Tom Hanks and Leonardo Decaprio. both stars were out standing in this film…..(wonder if they’ll ever be in a film together again?) any way……great film..apparently based on real life events of this guy who led an amazing life of impersonating people and got away with it and also forged loads of money.

How did he ever get away with it? Ok it was the 60’s but don’t worry every one ’cause in true American style…the bad boys don’t remain out there for long. (Remember Scooby Do?)

Reminds me of that Who song they played on C.S.I Miami……Won’t get fooled again…awesome!
