Re: ‘teaching them not to breed so much’ – that goes for all societies and cultures including our own – The world needs a population policy as the ‘population explosion’ that was predicted in the 60’s and 70’s but didn’t happen is on the cards again, only a few decades later.
A first step would be to stop people from guilting couples who don’t…[Read more]

How does the beheading of one man stack up against the systematic destruction of a city and the slaughter of the civilian population, by US missiles. (all except the Oil Ministry building of course)
What city? Are we talking about Hiroshima or Nagasaki? Japan doesn’t have any oil reserves. Anyway, it wasn’t missiles, the A-bombs were dropped…[Read more]

Most categories of driver are condemned by someone or other as the worst drivers – old people, women, young people, truck drivers, taxi drivers, white van man, motorcyclists etc. etc. all come in for some flack.
Actually petrolhead car enthusiasts tend to be the worst drivers. To them spinning the wheels, fast cornering, tailgating and split…[Read more]

I am a man, I have driven for 34 years and have been an HGV driver. All my observations over that time lead me to believe that women are, in general, better drivers than men. Accident statistics bear this out too, and that is why women can often get lower insurance premiums.
That doesn’t mean that there aren’t some bad women drivers. If I were…[Read more]

Pity she doen’t mention the commonest danger to children in schools……other children. Bullying is assault and it’s high time it was treated as such.

Yes, atleast they punish criminals, “we” think about it
They mighyt punish criminals but they also punish people they think might be criminals and people who have done things that wouldn’t be considered a crime here.

But then this Christian country, is awash with yobbos, rapists, drug addicts and dealers, all probably professing to be Christians, so you pays your money you take your choice.
You cannot draw a parallel between the situation in western, nominally Christian, democracies and places ruled by islamists.
True, we have microfascism here, imposed by…[Read more]

Killing muslims in Iraq and in his home country of Jordan strikes me as a very odd way of fighting ‘Western aggression and terrorism’. More like he was carrying on Saddam Hussein’s work of victimising Shia majority (who are backed by Iran, no…[Read more]

Apparently he took an hour to die. I hope he managed to contemplate the pros and cons of martyrdom as he suffered his well-deserved final agonies.
He is thought to have personally killed some of the western hostages but he was also responsible for the deaths of thousands of muslims in Iraq.

Getting back to torture….
Torture is not something that should be used by a civilised society in an ideal world. But then what is torture? Clearly inflicting pain to extract information is torture but what about sleep deprivation, discomfort or hunger.
In the case of terrorists I think the rules can be bent if the stakes are high enough – if…[Read more]
