I have an app on my phone with calming sounds, rain, waves crashing etc. I just sit it on my pillow on a timer so it goes off automatically after an hour and it helps.

As for your noisy neighbour, maybe try the nice way, approach her and explain to her you can hear all she does and its really messing with your sleep, If so wont comply, then report her and keep on doing so until something is done.

I agree young people don’t know it all, myself I love to learn anything new, love to be shown by others how to do things the way it should be done as to not mess up, I like things perfect, I cannot speak for the rest of the younger generation. I just hope the older generation pass on their experiences and help the young one progress better in all aspects of life.
