That’s an infantile comment on what’s universally regarded as a genuine classic of world literature..

It was censored when Dostoevsky first published the novel in the  1870s, and was restored because it brought great depth to the story. It wasn’t a salacious account, and neither is the poem salacious.

Also, I don’t think the last line is humorous at all.

If it was intended to be humorous, then it would weaken the poem dramatically.

I see the last line as terrifying. The son is petrified, and the dad using gentle words underlines the terror.
