Not sure it is legal for under 16s to drink.
It’s illegal to sell alcohol to someone under 16.
It is legal for someone under 16 to be given alcohol and to drink it.
A 14 year old having a few vodka and cokes or a 14 year old having sex with a man years older than her? Or: A 16 year old having a few vodka and cokes or a 16 year old having sex with an old pervert?
Neither of these situations are acceptable.

We cannot ‘govern’ or ‘monitor’ what people think inside their private minds – shame we cant.
This is exactly the kind of attitude I created this thread to discuss.
However I don’t believe you should drop the age of consent giving children the green light to be having sex at that age.The law is there to protect children of 14,15 and 16 year olds. The law is there to protect them from themselves as well as from others.No No there is no way I would be telling my 14 year old kids its ok to go and have sex.
Laws don’t exist as a moral guideline, that is up for every person to decide for themselves.
It’s not a good idea for a child to down a 1L bottle of vodka, but it isn’t illegal either.
