I have no idea if you live in the UK or not but “economic concerns” in the UK, infringe the rights of citizens every second, of everyday.

Secondly you can misquote me all you like but it alters nothing, in government big decisions are taken and grown ups discuss these issues like grown ups and how to deal with them and the cost tops the list during those grown up discussions.

Initially you stated execute all paedophiles, apparently in your liberal bubble you assume it is perfectly reasonable to line up hundreds of thousands of people and shoot them at the side of the street.

At fourteen years old I’d not have trusted my kids to remember to lock the back door let alone put a condom on.
Just because it would be hypotherically legal for them to have sex, doesn’t mean you must encourage them to do so.
You are free to discourage them from it as much as you want.
In my opinion there is no cure for peadophiles and they should bring back the death penalty for them. As people they serve no purpose other than to damage others.
I don’t believe that just bing a paedophile should be illegal, acting upon those impulses should be.
There is also the posibility of non-paedophiles having sex with children. This could be because they did not know the age of the person, or because of some kind of power fantasy, or some other reason. To make being a peadophile illegal does nothing to protect children in these cases.
You would also then be giving the government power to police people’s thoughts, which is even more dangerous that the original post.
No sex is a contraceptive.
There is nothing you, or the government can do to prevent 15 year olds from having sex.
(Other than giving them hormone blockers that prevent them entering puberty)
Abortions are also not acceptable. Why start a new life if you never intend to complete it through to the birth? What if your parents had aborted you? This maybe another discussion for the boards.
I think that abortion after 10 weeks should be punishable by death for both the mother and the doctor performing it.
But I don’t see how that is relevent.
For example my community too many people cutting down trees on their personal property. For environmental supporters this too much…so now have to get approvals as to numbers can cut, and approvals can be denied by others who have no say or should in what you own.. not all communities have that.
If a tree is on your property should be able to cut it down at any time, for any reason. Given that doing so does not damage the property of another person.
It is your property, not the governments. They have no authoritiy to dictate what you can do with it.

And you have gone wrong with your maths if as you say its okay for a 14 year old to have sex with a 16 year old then a 16 year old would also be able to have sex with a 14 year old and not just 16-18.
The upper bounds are exclusive, not inclusive.

There is more to life than sex. Let children be children instead of forcing adult decisions on them.
They are going to have sex regardless if it is legal or not.
It is better to prepare them properly so they can do it safely.
Do people really think its ok for a person in their 30’s, 40’s, 50’s, 60’s, 70s’ etc to have sex with a child of 16 just because it is ‘legal’?
As far as I can tell people in this thread are deliberately misinterpreting the law as a justification for their view that sex with a child 14-16 is acceptable.
That being said, legality and morality are not the same thing. And I don’t believe that is acceptable.
My personal view, which I haven’t yet stated on this thread is that :
A 14 year old should be able to have sex with someone between the ages of 14 and 16
A 16 year old should be able to have sex with someone between the ages of 16 and 18
An 18 year old should be able to have sex with someone who is 18 or older
Wasn’t sure which thread to put this on, as the call for execution came on the other thread. But thinking about it I think maybe this is the right thread.
I believe in capital punishment for serial killers, and people who have murdered, raped, or seriously harmed a child. Provided there is significant enough evidence that leaves no reasonable doubt of their danger to society.
